Many US citizens want to travel overseas, and wait the last minute to apply for a passport. And they come to Yahoo Answer to find out where to apply, how much doe it cost and how long does it take.
Aren't any post-office in their home-town? Are these people retarded or what?

I agree, it's amazing at times...like they are slow or something.

The law didn't just change, it changed almost a half year ago. If you count the fact that the government told everyone about the new requirements a half year before that, it's been almost a year to get your "stuff" together.

Even if you want to give them that excuse, there are more than enough that are trying to get their passport in less time than it took before the changes. Yet they still send it off standard and then want to know what they can do!

Makes you wonder at times...

I don't think there is anything wrong with asking here. Some people just don't know. And most post offices don't take passport applications - only some do. so they may very well not have an easy way to do this.

Plus the government does not make this terribly easy - travel.state.gov is not an easy URL to just think up. You really have to know it.

As for the last minute, I agree I don't understand that. Why would you pay a lot of money for an international trip, then wait to the last minute to get the appropriate documentation.

But I think you are being too hard on people in general.

Eh, the law just changed. People are so used to what they are used to.
