I wasn't born into any religion. My parents both have "unconventional" beliefs and neither one of them forced those beliefs on me.
If I had been born into a religion, I don't know how it would affect the way I view things now. I imagine that if I had been born into Christianity instead of coming to it on my own, I probably would've lost my faith when I was a teenager and experienced some pretty horrible things. Especially if I had someone constantly saying things like, "Everything happens for a reason" or "God has a plan".
Since I became a Christian as an adult, I can see now that God does have a plan, but at the time ... wow, I don't know how hearing something like that would have affected me.

I don't think I was born into any religion really. I remember my mother telling people that we were Baptists, when I was young, but I never knew either of them to darken the door of a church or crack a Bible. I used to try to read the Bible some when I was young, but never could make any sense of it. Later on, I joined several religious groups, including the Baptists, where I met my wife, and we have done some more searching since we've been married. To this day, I have never found a religion that satisfied me, and I don't think she has either. We are currently nominal members of a Church of Christ, whom we both feel are really just too restrictive and fanaticky. The main reason for our joining tho was a dying request of her mother's, that she get back "in church". So we did, so the poor old lady could die happy, and as far as I know she did. She at least expressed pleasure that we had joined a church, even tho it was not the Baptist brand she had raised all her kids in.

well first you have to understand what religion really is, would you agree that "religion (no matter what kind) is an organized way of worshipping SOMEONE OR SOMETHING the next question I have to answer is WHY DO I HAVE A RELIGION?
well thats because I want my form of worship to be pleasing to God, why? because he offers everlasting life to those who worship him with spirit & truth, So how do you find truth well it begins with having a working knowledge of the Bible
see what Jesus said about people who thought that they were CHRISTIAN
(Matthew 7:21-23) 21Â “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22Â Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23Â And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
People should choose their own religion when their an age of reason, who knows if my parents religion is acceptable to God, they probaly got it from their parents. Jesus was 30 when he was baptized & became the messiah.
Is that a good reason to have a religion? Infant baptism is not supported in the Bible only those who had accuract knowledge would be baptised.
(Matthew 28:19-20) . . .Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”
I was born into a prodestant family, then when I married I became a catholic thinking it was the right religion (reasoning that it was the oldest, I was wrong) Later I studied the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses & came to an accurate knowledge of God & what he expects of you, at the age of 32 I was baptised but this time I knew why.

If as an adult I found that the religion of my family did not suit my outlook, I would research other religions to find one that did. I would know that as religious people my family, especially my parents, would accept my choice if it was an informed choice and not an emotional ones.
Every religion has a positive aspect to it, each has limitations that do not suit every person's code of life, and there is no right one for everyone.

I am Catholic from my infant baptism. The Church is what my parents chose for me back then. At the age of 16, I chose it for myself at my Confirmation. Fast-forward a few more decades....I've read about, learned about, heard about and discussed -- and visited -- other faiths. I keep choosing Catholicism over and over. If I had been born into another faith -- Christian or non-Christian, I would follow the deepest desire in my heart to find Truth. That Truth is Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit and I would do whatever I could to follow that Truth...right into his Catholic Church.
Even though my beloved parents made the decision shortly after my Confirmation to leave the Church and join the Assembly of God, I remain true to who I AM...a daughter of Christ's Church. My parents are no happier in the AoG although they love the social stuff and have started a couple of groups. But socializing is not Truth.

I ask myself that question all the time. I am a strong Christian but I ask myself if I were born into Islam what life would be like. If I have to guess I think I would stick with It for cultural and traditional reasons but I don't know if I would truely believe.

Without some comparison to another religion I would probability embrace it with out contradiction as it would be the only religion that afforded me direction through it's teachings.

I was born into a different religion I was born into the
Protestant/Catholic system (Same Santa Claus, Same Pumpkin, Same Easter Bunny and Eggs etc.) and not the pure religion of Jesus Christ by doing what the bible says. God doesn't call everybody he only calls whom he chooses he tells his Son Jesus that is the the man I need the foolish thing I need to be a Son of God.
1st Corinthians 1:26-27 "For ye see your calling brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the week things of the world to confound the things which are mighty."
I used to have Cerebral Palsy I was a good protestant/catholic believer in the church but not the bible. God never called my preacher, never called my parents etc. He chose me the foolish thing. He can't call a bible school preacher because they are too wise with bible school, and ideas. But he choose me the foolish thing.
John 6:44 "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."
People are too wise in this world for God they want to stay in their sin and build bigger and better things and God can't reach those people especially the Christians. He choose me to get out of sin and washed me and cleaned me up and made me perfect, holy sanctified the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, by putting me into the bible. John 15:3 "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you."
A Protestant/Catholic/J.W./Mormon or TV/Radio/Internet Evangelists has no salvation in those churches for man's soul. And they are all wrong when it come to the truth the word of God the King James bible. The Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation Romans 1:16.
