I organized a shoe drive with a goal of 300 pair and I received nearly 1000 pair. Now I have to ship them all. It's crazy! If you know of an inexpensive shipping company .that can deliver to an APO address let me know

The US Post office is the way to go Wendy. (practically the only way, but definetly the most cost effective.)

Are you sending the shoes for soldiers to distribute to children? That's great if so! When I send to FPOs (Navy and Marine version of APOs), I usually send flat rate boxes. You can pick up the boxes at the post office for free, or even go to USPS.com and have them sent to you. The boxes are always the same amount to send ($8.95) no matter how much they weigh, and usually get overseas in a week to 10 days because they are priority boxes. You won't be able to get lots of pairs in one box, but it may still be cheaper then sending them in a huge box. Plus the bigger boxes take longer to get there.

The US Post Office will always be the cheapest. It doen't cost any extra to mail to APO's. Fed Ex and all those guys need to know where in the world it is really going.

Being active duty I didn't know we had a shoe shortage.

The USPS is the only choice.

But Lucky you they only charge the Domestic rate to ship to an APO!

Honsestly the po is the only way you can ship and get them there that I know of. Perhaps call and talk to your local postmaster and see what he/she can arrange.
