Two thousand dollars on gifts? Do you think that is a bit much? Where can I find a woman who would do that for me?!?
Seriously, you really shouldn't be angry with him at all. I know it can be easy to do so because you are feeling very unappreciated because you went through the expense of all the gifts, but in the end you chose to spend the money. Next time buy something from the heart and not spend as much.

Heard of money cant buy you love, and its the thought that counts?
Maybe he believes that their gifts were from the heart and yours were just.. well items.
You may mean well but the best gift a guy I know ever got was a homemade card from his girl about their relationship for his 21st birthday.
Had stuff like "21 best memories of us" and "21 reason why I love you"
He still has it to this day - 5 years laters

Well, yeah, I'd be a little peeved if he didn't seem grateful AT ALL. You need to just talk to him - tell him how you feel. If you can't communicate your real feelings with him, then it's not a good situation.
But honey, in the future, I wouldn't spend so much money. You know, with men, sometimes the time and effort you put in can mean more than anything. Are you trying to BUY his love or something?

He might think you are trying to buy his friendship, loyalty, love. He seems happier with text messages because he was remembered by people that didn't 'have to' remember him. It sounds like its time to get the price tag out of the relationship and go to simple things. Give him his favorite candy bar with a ribbon on it, make a college of a special event (like a pic of the 2 of you, ticket stubs & brochure of the event, etc): place it in a picture frame and give it to him. Remember the things that are special to him. A single flower, a romantic dinner/picnic...get back to the simple things and not the expensive things.

girl, what on earth possed u to buy him 7 gifts? buy him 1 gift and be done with it... would he do the same for you? probably not, cuz most guys dont like liek women do. men dont need much, they need friends, their girl, and some food and they are good!
next time, opt for a nice home cooked dinner and a lil fun afterwards with a new number from victorias secret.

You should be mad at yourself for wasting that much money. Obviously, he likes more personal gifts, and thought I don't know what you got him, I'm guessing it wasn't exactly personal. Save your money next time, and give him something he really wants. I got my guy a new driver and golf shoes for his birthday, but let him pick them out. I only had to spend a couple hundred, and he was ecstatic.

In my opinion, you have no right to be mad. You should never have spent $2000 on a guy. Or anyone for that matter. You've learned the hard way that money can't buy love.

WOW!!! What made you think he was for sale? Two grand on a BF is unreal. His liking the text messages should tell you something. In any event, keep your money, you are going to need it.

See what happens when you just text him for Christmas. If he asks WTF, tell him you thought thats all he wanted since he didnt respond to your birthday gifts. And spending two grand on a guy youre not married to is a huge mistake.I dont care if you have the money to do it,it's too much.If spends less than that on your birthday you need to send his cheap rear packing.
