I would do it but its best to talk it over with your grandmother. Since it doesn't sound like you and your grandmother have a close relationship, you may want to think about how she feels about you asking for her to loan you money. Just gather yourself together and be ready to honestly talk with her and you never know what she will say. Hey, you don't have anything to lose

Nope! why can't you get an Stanford loan??? I would not even co-sign a loan for my own son.
Bottom line you said you do not know her that well, so why put yourself in a place where you have to owe someone you do not know. Look at it like this also.... how about you co-sign for your collage roommate that you have know only for a year?? you would not do it...

Go to your school FA office, and get the money in other ways.. Grants is a great way.... good luck

Only if I knew my granddaughter that well and that she was a mature and responsible person. You can give it a try asking your grandmother to co-sign but be prepared in case she says no. It won't be that she doesn't love you, just that it's not a good idea to co-sign for anyone. I refuse to do it again for my son.

Are you a responsible person? A good student? If yes mostly importantly does your grandmother know this? If you don't know her that well, you might seem to her as a money grubbing person who wants only her money and doesn't want to know her. I think you have answered your own question. If I didn't know you well, I would not co-sign a loan.

No I wouldn't because I dont think I would remember what I did. Since you dont know her that well I dont think she would co-sign for you.

You can get loans through FAFSA.ED.GOV or loans through your school or local bank.
