To keep people living in fear. The entire idea is a contradiction. God is an all loving God, all forgiving God right. So how does it make sense that he would condemn any of us to hell?! As far as following scripture, the Bible was written in Hebrew, it has been translated BY MAN hundreds of times over the centuries. GOD has never told me or anyone else that we would burn in hell for anything. I'm not saying I don't believe in the Bible, I just don't trust all the people who have made it what they want it to be. My God tells me that he loves us all and wants us to be good to each other. That's what I feel in my heart. If He wanted us to be perfect he would have kept us there with him, where we are perfect! And the same people that tell us we'll be sent to hell for human sins that God gave us the choice to make, tell us that you can commit any sin, murder whatever, and if you "repent" the way the believe to be required you'll be absloved of those sins and welcomed into heaven!! I think that anyone who just believes what they're told, just because they were told, without questioning it themselves is ridiculous!
Some people just can't think for themselves, I guess. That's why all the people that believe this way, can't EXPLAIN it , they only quote the scripture, it doesn't even make sense to them! They focus on what's convenient to them. A quick example of the hipocracy in this belief. My uncle shot and killed my father (his brother). His Christian beliefs and the scripture that he's always quoted tell him that because he has welcomed Jesus back in his heart and "repented" through God he will be welcomed into heaven. But he told his daughter last week that she's going to spend eternity in hell because she's marrying a Jehovah's Witness!! That makes sense right?!

Because they don't know their Bible. There is no eternal hell in the Bible. The wages of sin is death. The second death. Everybody dies once (except those in the last days). Then they are resurrected on Judgment day and given eternal life (a gift from God) or annihilated in the pit of fire (the second death). That death is eternal. That's why Jesus says not to fear the one who can kill the body (the first death), but rather the one who can kill the soul (God).

No, through fact there is not any such concern like hell. all of us bypass to a similar place, the place we could have the prospect to make the main of our very previous life, and be arranged to be born back, until all of us attain a more desirable point of Spirituality. besides the fact that, God had to attain men's hearts via worry via previous testomony and previous rules. Jesus and the hot testomony replaced the assumption lots via His occasion of affection and forgiveness. those days, as we've more desirable via our countless lives, we can understand much extra efficient approximately everyday and unconditional love, Divine rules like reincarnation, countless lives, the relationship with the religious international, so on. regrettably, some human beings are nonetheless caught to the previous theory of loving God via worry, yet that's ok. those human beings will learn extra via countless lives too. no one is extra efficient than all individuals. We have been there until now. would not it sound like God has extra efficient morals than us? It does to me. Peace!

It's the only thing that's preventing them from doing whatever they want, like most people who aren't as religious. If they question hell, then there are no repercussions to their actions, and why would you want to stick with Christianity if that were the case? They probably don't want to question one of the key elements that is holding their religion together.

I wouldn't say scared it is more we just believe in Heaven and Hell.We believe Gods word in the Bible.Yes he loves us all that is why we all have a chance to accept him as our Lord and Savior. He didn't make us puppets he gave us a free will.If we were puppets and he could makes us love Him but that wouldn't be love.We don't understand all of it but will when we get to Heaven and see him face to face.

The wrath of God only apply to those that hate God.
In that application, it is merely a reflection of the person that hates God.

defend it?
i am not afraid of God in the least. He does love me and I have no fear. When Judgment comes, it is my own wrong doing that will decide what will happen to me. I accept Jesus as my savior and try to live right by this

There is no eternal hell. that concept goes against the Bible. God loves us but hates sin.

Why question hell? It is pretty self explanatory. If one chooses the path away from God, then that is the path you have chosen, hell.
