I have dark brown hair, looks black(not dyed...my natural color). Will lemon juice help lighten it? I know it helps people with light hair. If so, can you give tips or instructions on using it? If not, are there any natural methods to lightening very dark hair.

It's tough to lighten dark hair without going to the red tones.. If you want to lighten it up a bit without changing the color, I'd try a Miss Clariol that only lasts about 20 shampoos in a lighter color than your hair. Make sure you get the temporary one! There are lots of "Hair glazes" out now that can make it more shiny but lightening dark brown may be better left to a professional.

Yes it will but it's about the same effect as using sun-in. It will lighten in the reddish shades, not blonde. It will also make your hair dry as straw and like with commercial dyes you will get roots-although usually less dramatic. You would be better off using a shampoo dye of one to two shades lighter- you'll get the same effect and your hair won't be as dry.

Yes it will work. Just saturate your hair with the juice and sit in the sun. You will want to wear sunscreen so you don't burn while you're waiting, and a good book makes the wait go by faster. Good luck!

lemon juice is mostly for blonde hair, i would suggest just getting it dyed of you want to lighten it, or try a hair glaze.

lemon juice works, though you won't exactly go blonde.
Olive oil, chamomile, honey, hydrogen peroxide(which comes from honey).
Stand outside in the sun for hours and hours.

You run a risk of having it look orange. I know of no natural methods. Embrace your darkness.

it might work but why do you want your hair lighter? also if you do you might end up with blond. but it wont look natural it will kinda look messy and all over the place. it only really works 4 blonds or really light brunettes.
