I have one large dog who I pick up after on a regular basis, but I'm dealing with yellow spots on the lawn in the backyard. Now with the rain, clover has begun to grow on a section of the lawn. I know about lime and gypsum and weed and feed, but I'm not sure which order to approach my problem. Any serious ideas?

I need to know what steps I need to take and in what order I need to take them so I don't obliterate my lawn all at once. Do I take care of the white clover first? then the dog spots? Visa versa? Is there a product that can be used throughout the yr to help with the urine? HELP!!!!

Usually clover in a lawn is a sign of nitrogen deficiency but your dogs urine is nitrogen rich. So rich it over fertilizes that spot killing the grass.
I would remove the dead grass by cutting out the sod within the patches and check for insects while there. Just to be sure it is only dog urine and not grubs killing the grass.
Then I would topdress the entire lawn with compost or earthworn castings and an organic fertilizer. Then reseed or resod the turfless areas.
Are you sure it is clover and not oxalis in the lawn? There are a number of clover like weeds. Check this set of pictures

Try spraying the clover with spectracide. Worked for me. I don't know about the dog spots.
