In other words, can a blender produce the same results as a shaved ice/snow cone machine? Or is it not powerful enough?

Not really as good. My blender has an ice crusher but it wouldn't do the job like you would like it at all.

That is not a good idea. The blades in the blender may chip and you might get a piece of metal in your ice and swallow it causing damage to tender areas of your digestive tract.

If you have a thru the door ice dispenser and it gives you the option of crushed ice, try that. It will not be as fine but it may do.

You could go to K-Mart or WalMart or somewhere and look in the kitchen appliances or childrens section and find a snowcone maker.

no...blenders aren't built to shave ice, but if you go to a kitchen supply store you can find special machines made specifically for that, they usually have a handle and they're pretty easy to use.

Get a machine made for crushing the ice. the blender bottle may shatter, if and when the motor manages to start
