Heading out for South Dakota Sunday evening. Be gone for an entire week. What will I do???
Will you pray for our travel and safe return?
Plus, if any of you live in or have been to SD. Any ideas? We'll be up by Deadwood and Mt. Rushmore.

Been there, you'll love SD.
Don't miss Mt Rushmore and take the audio tour (lots to learn).
Another good site is CrazyHorse, the indian version of Mt Rushmore...an indian chief riding his horse into battle that's carved out of the side of a mountain.
Deadwood was not very impressive but Kevin Costner's brother owns a restaurant in the middle of town that has lot of his movie costumes and posters - the Buffalo Burgers are good.
Also worth seeing (about a 2 hr drive from Rapid City) are the Badlands - a great drive through the colorful sand dunes.
Not much to do in Rapid City but there is a haunted hotel - the Alex Johnson on the main street. Ask for a room that's not haunted (seriously).

In my opinion that is the most beautiful part of the country. We stayed in the national park near Mt. Rushmore. Unbelievable! There is an abandoned Gold Mine in Deadwood... the twin cities...Deadwood Gulch and Lead. Don't forget to visit Wall Drug....a whole town built around a Drug Store, simply because they advertised "Free Ice Water".. The Black Hills are beautiful and don't forget to visit Crazy Horse Mountain as well as Mt. Rushmore.
Don't forget to try some Buffalo Meat...
