Why do you have to keep trying to make my kid pray before tests, and stop rape victims from aborting their rape babies?
The door swings both ways.

They do it for the same reason that some Christians always answer questions that are meant for non-Christians with bible verses. Someone asks a question/makes a statement that's contrary to their belief system and they have to expound on whatever is in their head. I think it's pathetic that *anyone* does it, not just atheists. I can't count the number of Buddhist questions where some well-meaning Christian buttinsky dropped in and told the asker that they need to forget about Buddhism and find the truth path. Of course, you can't find a prayer request question that doesn't have someone telling the asker not rely on a myth. It's all over.
I'm not big on prayer, but, with alterations, the Serenity Prayer is very, very Buddhist and very, very applicable to internet forums.
Atheist = no god.
Areligion = no religion.
I am religious, a Buddhist, and I am atheist.

That's a very good point. Unfortunately, I don't always "live" the way I should and therefore must resort to humbly admitting I'm not much of a Christian. But that's neither here nor there.
Atheists are just like anyone else, we all want to get our 2 cents in. Most of the ones that offended me right off the bat that I talked to, didn't really mean to be offensive. I think Faith is just a foreign idea to them and they're curious.

They are going to do whatever they want to do...just to prove that lack of religion IS the real problem in the world.
Don't worry about them... you can't reach all of the people. And it makes them feel superior, to pretend that they have ALL the answers when in reality, they have none. Most Christians will admit they do not have ALL of the answers.
Then again, you wouldn't want them to find the RIGHT category to discuss their evolution theory would you...that seems to be their primary reason for suggesting, (not thinking) that there must not be a GOD.

As far as I know this is an open forum. If you want to exclude a person of a different faith from answering a question you have, this is not the forum. There are various chat rooms that are Christian only where you could go. Of course church might be a good place for an exclusionary question.

Well, I'm a Christian too, but you have to remember that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. If you replied to an atheist's question and you talked about Jesus, even if you meant well, they may be offended. The same thing goes vice-versa. Everyone has different beliefs, and we have to respect that. That's why there's so much conflict in the world (well, one of the reasons, at least).

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion
See how you are forcing people to think what you feel is true
"Live Christianity. I think that is the only way that we can get through to these eggheads who don't believe in Christ. So, whatever."
Some christian, huh?

'I just think it's pathetic that thiests, when they have no proof whatsoever, decide like they have to force others to believe that there is a God. It's just ignorant!'
Very well-polished mirror. Christians have started wars with people just because they're not Christians. How many wars atheists have started with people just because they're not atheist? Zero. So you can shut your ignorant mouth about "forc[ing] others" because YOU guys have the market cornered on that, 'kay?
Looks like YOU need to pay more attention to what Jesus says in the Bible about hypocrites.
This is not a "Christians only" area. If you want to communicate only with other Christians, go to church. The Internet isn't yours.

This place is for people of all kinds of religions (or lack there of) to ask and answer questions. If you are only looking for answers from Christians then you should go to a Christian forum.

Is there really a question here or is this just an underhanded way to spew hatred and spiteful venom under a mask of christian morals and decency?

This bothers me also... but just a note.... we are too see Jesus' face in all we see, so if the atheists want to chime in on a question, that just gives you an opportunity to know their "name" and pray for them. God Bless.
