Need to Get Hair Done early for Bat-Mitzvah?

Im having an afternoon bat mitzvah and I want to get my hair done, though I don't have any time to get it done. I go straight from my service to the reception so should I try to get a 6:00 appointment somewhere or do it myself? what should I do with it I have straight brown hair about 4 inches past my shoulder
