I have this recurring dream where I am in a small room. In this small room is the sea and I am either in the middle of the sea getting to shore or I'm being washed up on the shore. The shore is in 1 corner of the room and diagonally I see in the other corner that the sea is really high. I'm terrified to go into the water and desperite to get out, because I'm afraid of sharks (which I never saw were there). It's dusk, getting dark. The last time I had this dream (about 3 days ago) I had a dog with me, which I had jump on a log of wood in the corner with the shore. Big waves are sweaping over me and I remember thinking 'oh sh*t it's getting high tide'. I think that I am safer on the other side of the room, but don't want to go there due to the sharks and it being high water on the other side of the room. There is never anybody else in the room with me.

I hope you can help. I'm trying to figure out what this dream means especially as it's a recurring dream

Ok Margie - You've gotta ask yourself: Is there a sink or swim situation in your life right now?

I sense that this dream is about staying in control of a certain situation, but knowing that there are consequences from either decision you make. But consequences are what you make of them. If you opt to swim ashore, knowing you'll have to bypass the sharks, there's a chance you'll be eaten alive, which is your worst nightmare... at least within your dream. Understandible. But you just said that in your other dream, you were provided with tools to make the journey to shore a bit easier... a log.

Only after you seriously interpret what the real-life situation is, maybe you'll stop having this recurring dream. This is pretty interesting. I once had a recurring dream that I would either walk or drive up an incline--whether that was a hill, a mountain, a ramp...whatever... and would notice that it would gradually turn into a 90 degree angle, which scared me sh*tless, because I'd soon find myself clinging onto the wall for dear life to avoid slipping down. I later interpreted this to be my finances. Once I got a better hold of them, I stopped having this recurring dream. Viola! Hope my interpretation helps.

Recurring dreams show unresolved issues. In your case, it could be about something that you feel it is not resolved or constantly not going smoothly in your thinking.

small room - low self esteem
the sea, shore - public, social life
dog - support
shark - fear, bully. high authority figurer
high tide - problems

In your dream, you may be seeking for support and due to low self esteem, this may involve with your social life. You may have some fear about some figure in your life. That fear could come from low self esteem or disrepect. That is why you subconsciously dream out being washed up on the shore. The problems you are experiencing may be also related with your support which you don't feel that support give you the help you need. That is why you projected no one else in the room.

Basically, you vent out the need to be helped conscience in dream

The sea you saw represents living in the world and the beach represents a boundary where safety is. While in the sea, there may be issues in your life which you feel like are tossing you to and fro by the sea. You mentioned having a fear of sharks in the water. Sharks represent predators or tragedies which strike suddenly and without warning. It sounds like maybe in your personal life, you have a fear of taking new risks for fear that some tragedy might occur. The huge waves represent issues which are getting bigger and able to over take you. This is a dream centered around your worries and fears. Okay, take care.

The waves crashing over you are a sign of feeling trapped. You might be in a relationship, and your subconscience is telling you that it's not working. Or maybe people are pressuring you to do something. The dog signifies a fact of loyalty or friends. So maybe there is no loyalty in a relationship, or your friends are pressuring you. Hope I helped!

I think its trying to make you face your fears by forcing you to go into the water with the sharks that you never saw and dont know if they are there.

youd almost have to know whats going on in your personal life. sounds to me like your in an impossible situation thats taking you over, or your about to do something that your scared of, you feel you have no support from others, but your going to have to make a decision and you cant go back. there is also a time limit. that is how i felt when i was about to get married. i didnt have that dream, but one similar.
