Above all we are here to honor and glorify God with our lives.
We do so by submitting to His leadership and Lordship. He will give us the things He has prepared for us to do which are generally helping others in whatever way we can without compromising our testimony or faith. The things we do come from a heart of thanksgiving and love for God delivering us from sin, death and eternal judgment.

More than anything else we do on this earth we want to do all we can to help others to know and love the Lord who died for all who will believe. There is nothing more important in the life
of a Christian than reaching others for Christ before they die.

This is an interesting question and a difficult one to answer. In fact, we may never know the answer; or it may be revealed only at the end of time.

According to G.K.Chesterton, God created us so that he could shake hands with himself. That may sound silly, but I guess God wanted to experience and interact with material creatures; being only pure spirit himself. We could imagine that God was lonely or felt incomplete and wanted to create an experiment in which he would extend himself in ways that had not happened before.

This is only a general explanation. Each person is unique and has their own special purpose. I think that we can find some kind of partial reason why each of us is here, but, again, we can't ever know the full reason; or not until the end of time. "...I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone which no one knows except him who receives it"; Revelation 2: 17. As it says at the end of the book, through the church we are to be the bride of Christ.

The short answer to the question “why did God create us?” is “for His pleasure.” Revelation 4:11 says, “Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.” Colossians 1:16 reiterates the point: “All things were created by Him and for Him.”
Being made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27), human beings have the ability to know God—and therefore love Him, worship Him, serve Him, and fellowship with Him.

As my proffessor has said, "He wanted a creature that He could love and that could love Him back" Dr. Bud Garber. He also wanted a creature that was holy so that he not only could love Him but love Him so completely with all that his creation was created to express. God wants a relationship that speaks of the Son He loves. Our relationship is one of the same love relationship that Jesus has, we have been given the same. We live and move and have our being in Him for His Son in that we would bring glory to Jesus Christ, We give Jesus glory and honor and praise for becoming our salvation.

To fellowship with your Creator.

Fellowship was lost due to sin. The sin issue could not be dealt with by good works, traditions, or rituals. The wages of sin is death. A loophole was created by God that a substitute death could be used, hence the Levitical system of sacrifice, a picture of what was to come. God came down in the form of man, to live, and die in our place to re-establish our lost fellowship. This event tore the veil in the Temple to announce that the wall of separation between man and God was over. All we need do is come to Christ for the cleansing of sins and obtain the once-lost fellowship.

Why are we here? - For God to obtain a people, who by free will choice, choose Him without seeing Him. Who trust in Him when all the world trusts themselves.

I don't know that anyone could answer this for sure, but I think that our purpose is to explore our world. To make discoveries and to try our best to live together.
To enjoy life and have experiences that teach us and allow us to grow, and to experience love.

God wanted to create a perfect world in his own image. Our purpose is to grow closer to God and be like him as much as we can but to live life to the fullest. Why we are in this troubled world is Satan's fault.

I believe that we are meant to learn how to love one another. I also believe that this is a very difficult thing to do because we have to love people who don't act very loving towards us. I think that if we can achieve unconditional love for everyone we will be as close to God as is possible.

Here is your answer: Isaiah 43:7
"Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory."
and
Revelation 4:11
"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

so.....our purpose for being here is to bring glory to God and to give Him pleasure.
