This is in regard to the dog that is afraid of people and is injured. At the animal shelter where I live, people can rent (rather cheaply) a cage that is called a HAV-A-HEART ( I believe this is the correct spelling) cage. It is a way to trap a dog and not hurt the dog. Essentially, there is a trap door and a trip ( the dog steps on this so that the door shuts) that is set. You put something smelly in the very end of the trap - such as dog food, vienna sausages, lunch meat (anything that has a strong smell that will attract the dog) This is a very humane way to capture the dog and not get bit. Then you can call the humane society, ASPCA, or whatever and hopefully they will come and take away the cage and the dog.
As for the other dog - you should report these people to the proper authorities and hopefully they will rescue the dog or ticket the owners or something.

I'm surprised the ASPCA won't come...maybe another call will help? Other than that, be sure to call the actual humane society for the county you live in. They will handle it.

If all else fails, call the police/animal control. That's the best thing to do to help. Exposing yourself to a potentially dangerous dog probably won't do much good, leave it to the experts and see if they can;t get the dog in the bad environment out of there and into a home that's more suitable.

why won't they come? That's ridiculous! I would say leave some food out, but you don't necessarily want them around your house all the time.. maybe down the street, under a tree somewhere where the dog knows it is. Maybe eventually he will trust you and maybe a vet could come by and see him, or humane society. Good luck.

Also try the local govt animal control.

See if the SPCA or the animal control will lend you a dog trap..
Cage the dog and take him to the pound. He will be better off and will not suffer.

As far as the one that has a home, let SPCA handle it.

if the aspca is no help, call the humane society. Dont try to getthe dog yourself because if he is afraid of humans, you wouldnt want to risk of getting bit from a strange dog.

Hi!
I too, am a dog lover. If you can afford it, and can get the dog in your vehicle...take the injuried dog to the vet. Monitor the other dog's behavior and weight. If they are cruel to her or are not feeding her, then keep some food and water out for her.

Take the dog to a humane society outside of your own town, say you found it "stray".
