... I need 15000 dollars to pay for an apartment for the next two years, but I can't get my parents to cosign for it, but I know I could get my brother in-law or possibly even his mom to cosign. Do you think they will loan it to me? (The most I an get the college to loan is 4000 and that covers the schooling but not the apartment rent).

The bank wouldn't even give me a credit card with a 500 dollar limit when I was in your situation, much less 15 000 dollars. But if your brother or mother in law has good enough credit, there's no reason they couldn't cosign and get you a loan.

The bank would most likely require a co-signer, if they lent the money at all. [I have a full-time job and credit score in the very high 700's, but the bank still required my mother to co-sign for a 6000 loan to buy a used car. The other bank I applied through turned me down. They said I did not have a "long enough" record, even though I pay my accounts in full each month and have never been late.]

Can you try to make it through one or two years, and then apply for grants after that? Also, can you find a house you can share with other students, or a garage apartment where you help with childcare or transportation to pay your rent?
