If their posts on YA are any example, it seems that they would. For the populations own good, of course.

I would have thought it patently obvious to all those obviously-smarter-than-theists atheists that, seeing this is the R&S section, the inference was changing the "Freedom of religion" clause. My bad. Please accept my apology, from now on I'll treat you like dumb bunnies that have to be spoon fed.

Ok, maybe dumb bunnies etc was uncalled for. Trouble with YA is once you post these bits(in the heat of the moment), you can't edit them like you can your answers.

No.
But for those who pre-suppose the US is a "Christian Nation" I would like for them to point out where Christ or God is mentioned in the Constitution.
I would also point out the first line of the first ammendment is:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

You must be confused.
It is atheists and secularists who are fighting to MAINTAIN the constitution.
It is Christians who are pissing all over it.
"I would have thought it patently obvious to all those obviously-smarter-than-theists atheists that, seeing this is the R&S section, the inference was changing the "Freedom of religion" clause. With an attitude like this, how could any one conceive that atheists may have problems with a theist?

Sorry but it not the Atheists who are trying to change the Constitution. They simply want it upheld as it is.
WHY on Earth would they want to mess with the freedom of religion clause?
It's the Fundies who are attempting to write their religion into it.

No, the constitution of the United States is perfect. Please remember that the eighteenth century was the age of reason. The greatest minds of that era were anti religion.
"Another religious movement that was the antithesis of evangelicalism made its appearance in the eighteenth century. Deism, which emphasized morality and rejected the orthodox Christian view of the divinity of Christ, found advocates among upper-class Americans. Conspicuous among them were Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. "

No.
If we could, we'd make sure it's fully enforced.
No government endorsement of one religion over another.
No government subsidies of religious programs.
No religious legislation.
No endorsement of religion in public schools.
Just like the children of the Enlightenment that were the founding fathers would have wanted it.

Well, one thing I would definitely like to see changed would be a constitutional amendment barring discrimination based upon sexuality in all aspects of society including marriage. Discrimination is shameful and that is what barring homosexual people from marriage is since not every marriage is done in a religious manner.

I'm for the separation of church and state, so anything in the Constitution which refers to church, religion or anything of the sort should be removed.

I'm no atheist, but I think I'd make a few clarifications on the second amendment.

actually the constitution already states what should be upheld. People keep wanting to change it to make it more christian-belief friendly.
