absolutely not.
You think Hitler happened for a reason? You think babies are born anencephalic (without a brain) for a reason?

You are the reason why I am answering this question.
You need not to have reasons for anything that happens. You do not need to intellectualize any event. Somebody may bump you on the shoulder along the busy sidewalk. It may be accidental or it could also be intentional. One may say sorry and go away. The other may take it as an opportunity to get to know you or have a fight with you. Big reason, simple reason or no reason is a reason itself. Even the leaf that fall from its twig has a reason to say it is time for him to let go off the branch as the season is taking a change.
Yes, there is always a reason to everything but let some of those things not be always a reason to spend your time tinkering about it.

No. Many things that happen to us are of our own doing. Substance abusers do not become addicts because they were predestined to that life of misery and self-destruction.
God did not create a perfect world. In fact, God could have created a better world (St. Thomas Aquinas). God created this world "in a state of journeying." The more perfect exists alongside the less perfect. Nature has both constructive and destructive forces. Physical good will always be mixed with physical evil until creation reaches perfection.
Peace and blessings!

Ecclesiastes 9:11-12.....I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all. For man also does not know his time. Just like fishes that are being taken in an evil net, and like birds that are being taken in a trap, so the sons of men themselves are being ensnared at a calamitous time, when it falls upon them suddenly.

I think everything that happens does happen for a reason, but I do not think that means we don't have free will. Free will is our right to choose our will over God's or his will over our own. When we choose one way or the other...things happen and they are for a reason...but the choice is always ours to make.

Of course everything happens for a reason. Its called cause and effect.
I think what you mean to ask is, is their a higher purpose driving everything that happens? Unfortunately, no there is not. Everything has a reason, but not everything has a purpose.
The only time there was a purpose for everything was in the Garden of Eden before the fall of man.

I do think things happen for a reason, especially bad things. I think we are meant to learn from all of our life experiences. Also, I met my husband in a strange way and we are from totally different worlds. But we love each other and are very happy, so I know I am meant to be with him.

What I think is that everything that you do will come back around to you. You do good you get good things, you do crap you get crap. Just because you did something good today doesn't necessarily mean your goin to get something good tommorow but all good things happen in time which makes everything happen for a reason

Yes; it certainly seems to me that all things do happen for a reason.
If we focus on the negative, we tend to bring negative things and notice negative things in our lives.
They become inflated in their real importance.
Likewise, as we seek the better things in life, we then to attract them.
When we do the wrong thing, there are natural negative consequences in nature that go about their work in response.
So, Yes; it would seem that things are meant to happen that do.

Everything happens for a reason. It's called cause and effect. You can rest assured, however, that the causes are natural phenomenon, intentional effort and random chance, not supernatural powers.
