What he needs right now is LOTS OF LOVE and companionship, be sure to show him XTRA XTRA attention, play with him a lot, hug and cuddle him, as far as possible, dont leave him on his own, make sure that at least for a few days he is constantly with you and share your company by talking to him and petting him, loneliness is a deadly thing and like dogs can get afflicted just as humans, most of the time, since they have a shorter period of remembering bad things of replaced by happier times, they can become allright, provided they are allowed to become distracted from their sorrow for a longer period of time, your dog needs to be distratcted from his preoccupation with his loneliness and sadness, if yoy care for him enough, your love and companionship will greatly help him and guve him enough reason and strenght to fight his dark battles with deppression, it might be trying at first, but if you really care for him , this would be a sure fire way to let him know he is loved and cared for and wanted, and will gradually allow him to forget and revel in the moment of being happy with you.Medications for bullimic dogs and for deppression help enormously and you can also confer with a vet regarding this, but make sure that along with medication, he gets the love and care that he needs, which would go a long way to making him a happier dog.

Not normal. He could have parasites, an obstruction, a tumor, a food allergy, a metabolic disorder. There are many things that can cause chronic vomiting. If the medicine isn't helping and a change to a hypoallergenic food doesn't work, it's time for bloodwork, xrays, ultrasound, and perhaps biopsies. Go back to your vet or get a new vet or go to a veterinary internal medicine specialist.

try a dry food that is brown rice and lamb based, we used that combo at the kennel i worked with because it was easy on stomachs. if that doesn't work, you can also try a fish and potato dry food... a little more expensive, but if you're dog isn't taking down anything else, it would be worth it.

when you feed him, put a little water in the bottom of the bowl and microwave it for about 30 seconds, stir, and soften it up... that MIGHT be a little easier for him to get down too, but I don't know if that would help.
good luck!

Try changing the brand of food you are using to one with no dyes or fillers. They are hard on nervous stomachs. Them slowly ween him back onto his old brand after a few months. You also may want to take him to another vet just incase.

try feeding him less food more often. Also try keeping him calm (don't let him run) immediately after a meal.
