If The DaVinci Code is based on poor historical research and implausible speculation, the Left Behind series is similarly based on implausible interpretations of the Book of Revelation that ignore the most likely meaning of the text, historical context, and other crucial considerations. If you are going to be critical, please be self-critical too!

Both the DaVinci Code and The Left Behind book series are stories with no Biblical backing for the things they claim. There will be no secret rapture where the righteous are removed from 7 years of tribulation. Fact is, there is no seven year tribulation event at the end of time spoken of in Scripture. Take that away and the rest of the book becomes a fairy tale based on someone's "good ideas".

The DaVinci Code was a good read, and I was surprised people actually thought it was real.
But I don't much care what the argument was on it, because it isn't true.

Left Behind is based on loose speculation of Revelations and loose tenets of Christianity.
I never really liked the series but it seemed that the book had some of the more crucial facts correct.
But no, I don't think that it should be taken as strict fact.
The only reason Left Behind is taken more seriously is because its facts are based on the Bible, so the only people likely to read it are Christians.
And myself, being Christian, have never seriously considered that what would happen after the rapture would follow the books too closely.

The DaVinci Code and the Left Behind series of books were written by authors who are members of a religious sect known as Gnostics. The Gnostics have always tried to change what is taught in the Holy Bible.

It appears that through books and movies they are having a little success. They use half-truths to make it seem as if what they are writing about just might be possible.

Hollywood likes it because these types of movies [The DaVinci Code] automatically brings in big bucks.

Fiction, the only actual info are those with reference to the area and outlines of the artwork and the rituals pronounced i think of this is fulfillment is partly because of the fact he makes it sound so actual because of the fact he's mixing actuality and fiction , and he knows precisely a thank you to do it so which you get plenty historic advice yet would not experience like a historic previous lesson because of the fact you have the tale and the characters at the back of it which save you addicted to the unconventional that's an incredible e book

My faith doesn't rise or fall on any book including the Bible! I stand or fall based on WHO not what I believe. Since I know
the author of the Bible personally I know He wrote it through men submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Only persons who don't understand this are foolish enough to compare the Holy Scriptures to any other book. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE
WORTHY COMPARISON OF ANY BOOK TO THE BIBLE.

The DaVinci Code movie presented by Michael Moore is a pack of lies presented by a person who lacks credibility not only in his character but also in his known life prior to and since putting this gross misrepresentation of Christ and Bible
psuedo-study together.

The left behind series is what it is. I don't make excuses for it
or acknowledge it to be more than the understanding of men who are reading scripture and trying to produce some kind of
semblance to end times events. It's accuracy of lack thereof will be up to God to judge, but one thing I know about it is that
the people who prepared it and presented it weren't trying to deliberately hoodwink the public like Michael Moore did.

Further Michael Moore pulled out a story about a tomb that is a dead argument that was found to be spurious long ago. He simply embellished it to suit his need, and proved his dishonesty further. His work will be judged by God also.

The Bible -- Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth --- There is no book ever written that can compare to it in any way!!!

Why is it people always read too deep into things and make more out of something than it really is, or than it ever was meant to be?

You will never understand as long as you view the Bible as a Scientist instead of just reading and accepting the word of God as it is written!

Isn't it Sturgeon's Law that says "90% of what you read is total crap?"

I'm not a creationist at all, but then again I don't believe much of what is out there to read either. After all, books are researched by people, written by people, and proofread by people... too much room for stupid people mistakes!
