I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and an emergency vehicle was on the opposite side of the street with its sirens & lights on. There was no center median, but I was the only person who pulled over to the right. In California, we're supposed to pull over if there's no median. What's the law in Nevada?

The other drivers were not Californians. All plates were Nevada plates and we were 1/2 hour from the strip in a residential area.

When an emergency vehicle is traveling on an undivided roadway, all traffic traveling in both directions must pull to the right and stop. It is the same in all states.

People don't understand that, if necessary to avoid a blocked roadway, emergency vehicles must sometime drive on the wrong side of the road. People who fail to yield on either direction of travel are guilty of a traffic violation, and if their failure to yield causes an accident where someone is injured or killed, they are guilty of a felony and can face serious jail time and fines.

I don't know what the law is but I've never understood why people will pull over when the emergency vehicle is going in the opposite direction. I'm in Ca too and I never do, only when they are behind me or at an intersection.

If there's no median, you're supposed to pull over in Las Vegas, too. Either way, it's just common courtesy to pull over if there's no median. People need to learn to be more courteous drivers.

YES it's the same. All traffic must stop when an emergency vehicle is in use.

Not sure about the law but if what you say is true about california then it is a stupid law, there is no good reason that traffic in the other lane should stop.
