my dog is leaning to the right and he can't move his neck to the left, what is wrong, he tries to move it, but he quickly turns it back as though in pain, he does everything normally, (eating, walking, etc.) he occasionally shivers and shakes, but that might be beacuse of the rain.

I am a Vet Tech so PLEASE listen to me..... you need to get your dog to the vet ASAP if not sooner - there are several conditions that can cause this some are very very painful but easily fixed however there could be something something very bad such as a tumour or your dog may have had a stroke inwhich case there is nothing that could be done but will fix itself in time - however if its a stroke its nice to get some metomide or similar which will help with the dizziness and nausia that your pet will experience. Please be kind and take to the vet NOW

It could also be a foreign object has gotten into its ear. Does your dog spend a lot of time outside where there are tall grasses and weeds? If so it is not uncommon for dogs to get what is called a foxtail lodged in their ear. Buy some mineral oil at your local pharmacy and put 3 drops in your dogs ear. If the foxtail is the problem your dog will be better the next day as it will fall out. If your dog is not better, than take it to the vet.

I am not a vet, but I had an old vet once, practiced for 50 years...he told me to take my dog swimming when something similar happened to him. Swimming is basically like taking your dog to a chiropractor, or so he said. And after 3 days, Gary was fine. Go figure. But your dog may have had a stroke, a vet could tell you that. If so, swimming will still be good, but you must go in with your dog, as he may have difficulty turning to return to shore, side of pool etc. Good luck. Please let me know how your dog does on the contact space at mastiffs360.com. I hate to hear of wounded dogs. :)

Your dog is in pain. Shivering and shaking is a sign of pain. Take the dog to the vet and have it evaluated by a professional.

It might have been a stroke. Or it could be just intense pain. Either way, get him checked by a vet.
