Truthfully? I actually studied evolution instead of listening to what the creationists said about it.
By the time I woke up to what was happening to me, I had started studying all kinds of different subjects.. I chose this one and was astounded at the absolute FALSEHOODS spewed forth from "creation science".

There are always seemingly sane people who claim that there is no evidence either way. Really? If you're going to spout some ridiculous message about the earth being created in 6 days, animals being created fully formed the way they are now, and that the earth is really 5000 years old, then I am sorry, I have only one thing to say (To paraphrase Jack Nicholson) - "Go sell crazy some place else".
I cannot, for the life of me, imagine the processes that go in a creationist's brain. How on earth anyone could ignore the sum total of human knowledge, the foundations of scientific evidence, of logic and reason is beyond me. - Observable, empirical, and measurable evidence that support the evolution of life on this planet can be seen literally everywhere. Want to have a go at how old the ground you are standing on might be? DIG IT UP! - Wherever you are you will see the tell-tale signs of sedimentation - lines that delineate the years that have passed to make the ground you are standing on. Pop over to the bottom of a beach cliff, and you can see it even clearly, with evidence of life hundreds of thousands of years old, including petrified forests and fossilised life. Don't take my word for it, have a look at it yourself and try to explain that away with religious dogma.
Most religions clearly have a lot of catching up to do with reality. Some day, as they have always done throughout the ages, they will accommodate and integrate social and scientific fact/discoveries, or fade away as silly myths. The other option of having a bunch of deluded moronic religious maniacs spouting nonsense is not really an option at all.
An all powerful alien being may indeed have created the universe. The rest of the details gets sillier, the more you read it.

....and people get ticked with Christians for soliciting their religion on Y-Answers......
Dude you are free to believe what you want, but don't go putting down creationists.
If you want to be absolutely, honestly scientific, then neither evolution nor creation can be proven. There is more or less equal evidence on both sides (even though scientists on both sides conveniently ignore the evidence of the other side) and since nobody was there to actually observe the creation of the planet, science is at a stalemate.
Conclusion: You are just as entitled to believe in evolution as I am to believe in creation, but you are not entitled to put me down for believing differently than you.

Probably has more to do with their relationship with God going sour than any real evidence provided by evolutionists, which should tell you something about the nature of both beliefs.

Education is always the answer. It's a tough hill to climb in so many cases. (sigh)
