I want to sing a song for my groom at our wedding but I am not sure what. I thought about singing Wind Beneath My Wings because I once sang that at a friend's wedding but I am thinking that maybe that is overdone. I have a soprano voice so I can hit the high notes but I do not want to be too overbearing when I sing. I want to sing something that I can look at my groom in the eyes and sing to him and forget everybody else is there for the moment. I want to sing something where the words will say that you are everything to me and I will love you forever. Does anybody have any good suggestions?

For those of you who are being rude and calling me tacky for wanting to sing at my own wedding. I am doing what my fiance wants me to do he has asked me to sing because he loves my voice. So please keep your rude comments to yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really, whatever you sing, it's going to be perfect, as long as, like you said, you can "look your groom in the eyes and sing to him and forget everybody else is there for the moment."
If it's overdone, there's usually a reason. Even if you want to choose a song that's written for an alto, it doesn't matter. If it is really what means the most to the two of you and defines your relationship, it's perfect.
I wouldn't choose the song because you sang it at a friend's wedding, though--choose it because it's the perfect song for this occasion!
If you want to avoid "Wind Beneath My Wings," you can try something like Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood, and there's always Mariah Cary and Whitney Houston, maybe Celine Dion. Also, if there's a movie that means a lot to you two, or if you're into theatre, a lot of the featured songs from them usually focus on love.
If you really want to go crazy, maybe pick a duet that's special and that you know he'll know the words to and pull him up--if he's that kind of guy!
Whatever you do, you will have fun, it will be special, and it will mean a lot to the both of you.

Don't take this the wrong way. If you are an emotional person for moments like this i would not sing at your wedding. I was planning to do this as well, my now husband also likes my voice and i like his. We were going to sing a song to each other (two different songs), but we were both so emotional at our wedding there was no way it would have even come out. I had my vows all prepared and lost them right before the ceremony. We ended up starting late because i was rushing around looking for them. I ended up having to wing it at the last minute and i was speachless standing there looking into my husbands eyes. I just told him i loved him and was so happy to be marrying him and i cried.
If you can pull it off without getting overly emotional then i say go for it. Pick a song that best describes your relationship. If you two have a song that you can sing, then learn it and go for it.
If you are looking for someone to film your wedding or take pictures send us the info to GWVideography@aol.com and we will let you know if we cover your area. We have reasonable prices.
Good luck!

Because you loved me-Celine Dion. It's the perfect song. It doesn't require a lot of high notes. Good luck. It's definitely NOT tacky to sing at your own wedding. Some people are lucky enough to be blessed with a great voice and to be able to sing to someone you love in the happiest day of your life, that's just wonderful. Back off people!

That is so sad that you have to ask people on here to be nice! I think that it's a sweet romantic thing for the bride to sing to the groom. Well I think that you should sing A moment like this by Kelly Clarkson, it's the best! Good luck.

First of all, will you be singing at the ceremony or at the reception ? If at the ceremony, are there any restrictions ?
At the reception you'll be able to sing whatever you want.
I went to a wedding where the bride sang Natalie Cole's song "Inseparable". It was the perfect touch. Or you can sing something you know your fiance likes.

Sing a song he likes. Don't worry about how often it's sung at other people's weddings. You shouldn't care what others do, anyway. If it's true, who cares? The only people that will remember the song will you and your groom, and that's not even a guarantee.

Everything by Lifehouse

find me here
and speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
you are the light
that's leading me
to the place
where I find peace again

you are the strength
that keeps me walking
you are the hope
that keeps me trusting
you are the life
to my soul
you are my purpose
you're everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this yeah

you calm the storms
and you give me rest
you hold me in your hands
you won't let me fall
you still my heart
and you take my breath away
would you take me in
take me deeper now

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

cause you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

Love Of My Life by Santana

Where you are, that's where I wanna be
And through your eyes, all the things I wanna see
And in the night, you are my dream
You're everything to me

Chorus:
You're the love of my life
And the breath in my prayers
Take my hand, lead me there

I can't forget the taste of your mouth
From your lips the heavens pour out
I can't forget when we are one
With you alone I am free

Bridge:
Everyday, every night, you alone
You're the love of my life
Everyday, every night, you alone,
You're the love of my life

Outro:
We go dancing in the moonlight
With the starlight in your eyes
We go dancing till the sunrise
You and me we're gonna dance, dance, dance

Hey girl if you have the voice do it. It will personalize your wedding anyone saying it's tacky is jealous cause they don't have your voice. It's an amazing idea, but id have people putting stuff in their ears and glasses breaking.
Mine and my fiance favorite song for eachother is
I'm amazed by you.... By Lonestar.

TODAY= BY MUSIQ SOULCHILD
CD NAME= LUVANMUSIQ
LYRICS:
*[Verse 1:]
People always on a search tryna find that one (one)
But it's funny how they may not recognize it when it finally comes
(think it's) think it's at the mall
(or it's) or it's sippin' at the bar
All these dates and phone conversations we doing it all for what
When your Mrs. Right it's always Mrs. Wrong (Mrs. Wrong)
But I never stop to notice you where there all along (yeah)
Girl you're everything I could ever want and need
Now it's all clear to me and that's why

[Chorus:]
Today I've made up my mind
I'm gonna take this chance, bet my life on this
Cause this precious love I've found in you
My yesterday's are gone and tomorrow's never promised to no one
I finally decided girl that my today is you

[Verse 2:]
Now that I'm about to put myself (self) out on a limb for love that means (no more) no more at the club (tryna) pick something up
No more late night creepin' holler'n trying to see what's good for the night
I wanna be the best man for you (so)
If I gotta change my ways then baby I'll do
(whatever) whatever I got to keep you here by my side and starting with today

[Chorus:]
Today I've made up my mind
I'm gonna take this chance, bet my life on this
Cause this precious love I've found in you
My yesterday's are gone and tomorrow's never promised to no one
I finally decided girl that my today is you

[Bridge:]
It took me a while (said it kinda took me a while)
To realize just how much (how much you really)
Really mean to me though what we have is so clear anyone can see
But I was just (tryna keep it on the low)
But I wasn't ready for love (I wasn't sure but now I know)
Now I believe that you and I were meant to be and that's why

[Chorus:]
Today I've made up my mind
I'm gonna take this chance, bet my life on this
Cause this precious love I've found in you
My yesterday's are gone and tomorrow's never promised to no one
I finally decided girl that my today is you
