Why do my front speakers rattle in my 1996 cavalier??

I recently got a head unit and 4 alpine type R speakers installed into my 96 cavalier...except I had to get the adapter for the front speakers to fit my 6.5 inch speakers. However, there is a awful rattling sound whenever a song has hardly any bass at all. I have the bass set at 0 on my head unit, but the rattling noise does not stop. I thought it could have been just distortion from the speakers but it sounds more physical than internal. Like my door is rattling but its not even that loud and I dont have subs. I cant figure out if it is the adapters or they screwed up something in the installation. What do you think the problem is??

My guess is that the adapters don't allow enough clearance between the speaker and the door panel, which is causing the speaker cone to strike the back of the door panel when the speaker plays.

I would suggest taking it back to the place that installed them. sounds like maybe a bolt fell off and the speaker is bouncing around in the door.

you may also want to run a bass-blocker on your front speakers. the thing allows high (vocal and whatnot) but blocks the bass from going through. the place that put your speakers in will know what i am talking about.

You should really take the car back to the installers.
It sounds like something has fallen in front of the speaker. They should not charge you to fix it.

If it sounds "physical," maybe the speakers or the door panels are loose. Or maybe you are playing such terrible songs, that your sound system simply doesn't like them...
