Best way to clear the codes is to fix the car & wait for the monitors to reset. Taking it to a 'certain parts store' will not help you, as their employees are FORBIDDEN to reset the light for you. Doing so & getting caught will result in their dismissal.

If you just want to clear them, do a computer reset. You do this by disconnecting the negative battery cable and then turning on the ignition. Reconnect and you're good.

Keep in mind that "hard codes" will come right back. If you want the codes read, AutoZone or most any repair shop will do it and they will reset/go away UNLESS they are a hard code. Hard codes are things where something is really wrong.

Try an AutoZone near you. But write them down and write the freeze frame data too.
