Many factors come into a persons' appearance and body weight!
Now, expecting to SEE a difference over night is very misleading...and it doesn't (usually) work.
The way to a svelt body is to stick to a method of eating that concentrates mainly on HEALTH and the excess weight should disappear at a good rate.
Now about wanting to shed some weight.
Eat three meals per day; include some protein, small amount of carbs, and some small amount of fat (for digestion; fat is what causes your digestive enzymes to function) steer clear off of sugar products and cakes biscuits fried foods etc... and stick to your basic good foods like
*lean meats
*chicken breast fillets (skin removed)
*eggs (boiled or poached)
*fish (NOT fried)
*vegetables (are very filling and you can have as much as you want!)
*fruit (limit too much as the fructose (sugar) will hamper yr efforts)
Drink plenty of water... and get some exercise in.... whatever you enjoy; dancing jogging walking sports..... anything that gets you moving!
Good luck with this!

to lose weight you have to eat enough so your body wouldnt convert everything you eat in fat reserves.
crunches and situps build muscle - they do NOT burn fat so they make your belly look bigger because now there is more muscle underneath the layer of fat.
the only fat burning exercise is cardio, do it 4-6 times a week for 30-50min and combine with light weight training because cardio burns both - fat and muscle (more muscle=faster metabolism)
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Eat a healthy and balanced diet. Avoid junk food and fast food. Try limiting yourself to 1500-1700 calories while trying to lose weight. Exercise 30- 60 minutes every day. Also, be patient. Losing weight takes time. Those who lose the weight very fast gain it back, and extra, just as fast. Those who lose weight slowly are the most likely to keep it off long term.

eat a balanced diet of 1200 cal a day. include fruits, veggies, lean meats (grilled/baked chicken esp.), and dairy. eat complex carbs too. for example, a good breakfast is regular flavored instant oatmeal w/ a sliced banana. a few hours later eat a low-fat vanilla yogurt and a small apple. for lunch eat a grilled chicken salad with lots of veggies (watch the dressing though) and for dinner have salmon and veggies with 1/2 cup brown rice. a snack later might be yogurt and strawberries or more veggies and low-fat cottage cheese. just be sensible but EAT. you are screwing up your metabolism by going into starvation mode. your body is sooo scared that it won't get enough calories that it is storing the few cal that you do eat as fat and it is eating your muscles up instead. be patient. don't weigh yourself for awhile. drink plenty of water. exercise a little everyday. just be healthy. don't purge, please. I'm recovering from bulimia right now and i'm always bloated and feeling fat bc my body isn't used to eating the correct way. you don't want to end up like me. it just isn't worth it. plus, if you do make that mistake, when you decide to recover you will gain weight and it will suck even more than right now. good luck. BE HEALTHY! please, for me

you need to give it time.
don't expect sudden results.
the slower you lose the weight, the longer it stays off!
