Hi - my girlfriend has dreams that she has sex with lots of guys all the time including my best friends but she tells me she doesn't find them attractive. Does she secretly find them attractive and doesn't want to tell me? What does this mean?

Some people have dreams with more sexual content than others. The fact that she is dreaming of other people doesn't mean anything other than that she has subconscious attractions. This really doesn't matter - I have dreams about robbing banks (I could use the money) but that doesn't mean that I am going to allow my subconscious to take over in my waking life.

However, the fact that she has told you about these dreams is somewhat disturbing. It would be as if you told her every time that you saw a desirable woman (which for a guy, would be every time you were watching TV or out in public). I am guessing that you don't tell her these things. And why don't you? Because you know that it would hurt her feelings and make her insecure. Also, you know full well that even though you may feel attracted to someone else, you are not going to act on it. So the question is, why is she telling you things that are unimportant but are sure to make you feel insecure and hurt? That is something you will have to answer for yourself based on your relationship, but it would appear to us on the outside that she is playing some sort of emotional game with you.

The bottom line is that people in a relationship will always be attracted to others, its not like you go blind when you fall in love (accept my apology if you are blind ;) ). Everyone knows this and we all abide by the unspoken myth that once in a relationship you cease to find anyone else good looking. But your girlfriend has broken the unspoken code and is telling you of her attractions. So the question shouldn't be what do her dreams mean, it should be why she felt the need to tell you these hurtful things.

Not everything a person dreams about is as it is dreamed. In other words, the 'sex' could be a metaphor for soemthing else your girlfriend is talking about.

one way to look at this is to say that your gf having lots of 'sex' in her dreams is because she feels very open with you. In other words, the freedom she feels in sharing with you translates into 'sharing' parts of herself with other people, even if she doesn't find them attractive. That could mean that she doesn't like sharing aspects of herself with others (sex can be a metaphor for sharing, talking, communicating) as much as she does with you, but because you make her feel so open, it comes out in her dreams as akin to having sex with strangers. the fact that she slept with your best friend a dream can mean that her sharing with you makes her feel as if she is sharing something with a best friend.

I think the reason why she dreams of having sex could be that sharing with you is something new to her. If that's true, then the sensation of 'telling' someone about yourself can be the same as getting emotionally 'undressed'. And if this sharing is especially uncomfortable, her mind will find a metaphor that mirrors that feeling of uncomfortableness: i.e. sex with lots of guys, even when she has a bf.

So long as she doesn't have a history of cheating, or given you any reason to believe that she is anything but faithful, take the dreams to mean that she is sharing lots of difficult and uncomfortable parts of herself with you. That's not something to be jealous of, it's something to be grateful for.

Frankly, I think she's telling you this to annoy you. ;)

What a person dreams of has no correlation to real life, usually. Exceptions are problem solving that occurs during dreams (i.e. engineering problem, creative prolem.).

I find it odd that she even finds the need to tell you about the dreams. I wouldn't because it would hurt the person I was involved with, and she is insensitive to your feelings.

when I have those dreams I think that the guys that come to me in my dreams are thinking of me and are dreaming of me. She is picking up their signals.

If she's dreaming about it then it might be something that she's supressing because she doesn't even want to admit it to herself. Or maybe she ate something that disagreed with her..who knows?

spirit of lust. This does not mean she is attracted to these men, but that satan knows she is an addict sexually and is tempting her thru her dreams.

I think if she found them attractive, then she wouldn't be telling you. Unless she's hoping that you'll break up with her.
