Why Can't We Pant Like Dogs??

We can, we just don't need to because we are capable of sweating to bring down our body temperature, and dogs can't do that.

We do not need to pant. We do lose body heat through breathing but when over heating we have our sweat glands that kick in a provide additional cooling.

Point of accuracy. For all those that said dogs do not have sweat glands are incorrect. Dogs have sweat glands on the bottom of their feet. Occasionally you will hear someone say that their dog's feet smell like Fritos. That is the sweat from the glands on the bottom of the dog's feet.

You could pant like a dog but then you'd get lightheaded and have chest pain after awhile from doing that. Seriously dogs don't have the ability to sweat like humans. Without panting, dogs can overheat and if they don't have access to water or cooler area they can die.

We could but it would just be unnecessary, and probably make you even hotter, lol. Dogs do that because of the heat and the fact that they can't sweat. The more they pant, the hotter they are and the more they are trying to get cool.

We can pant like dogs. *pant pant pant* They just don't have any sweat glands. We have sweat glands and we don't have to breath heavy to cool down. We can breath normally and keep our body's temperature at a reasonable level. Unfortunately, they have to pant.
