Actually what the context of that is...she should not withold sex to punish her husband. More than likely that wouldn't be what she is doing. Most women will not have sex if they are not feeling emotionally fulfilled. If this question is about you I would suggest asking your wife if there is something you can do to support her or make her feel more loved. Also that paticular passage was more to emphasize that you are no longer individuals but a couple. I think it was more to be an idea not to be taken literally. GOOD LUCK!

The Bible is not as bad as the Koran, where the Islamic no tolerance gives the male supreme power over the wife and can kill her for refusing sex of any kind.

No. The Bible doesn't say anything like that.

Marriage is about mutual love and respect. No man has the right to demand sexual intercourse from any unwilling partner, even if that is his wife.

Under certain circumstances, she can refuse. A man should not take advantage of his wife!

That might have gone over in ancient Judea , but in the Here-and- Now , USA, it is definitely NOT true . Why do you even ask that? Why would you even WANT to go that route ? Try kindness, & maybe some flowers & wine (etc, etc) . ( Sheez! Trying to get us to approve rape !)

Oops. Scratch that . ;D .Misread your tone of voice , Maz .*gives self Thumbs-down*

Making love is not the only purpose of marriage.Husband should respect his wife.It is a mutual relationship of love and caring.Instead if you force her it is rape. There is nothing biblical in it.Mere commonsense as well as mutual love.

My wife never refuses me when i ask her ........ except if she is in period.

Pretty much in the bible wife must obey husband, as long as men are understanding and not abusive.

Sex is not an obligation! She can say no! If he takes it anyway that is rape! Yes, a man can rape his own wife! No means No!

Well, I'd actually have to blow the dust off mine and look since it's been awhile since I've taken it out and I'm not inclined to do so; so given that, biblically I don't know.

I do know that the law gives a woman, any woman married or not, the right to say no to any sexual advances.

Do you want OUR OPINION.... or GOD'S?

(1Corinthians 7:1-to-6) Now concerning what you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

(1Co 7:2) But, because of the fornications, let each have his own wife, and let each have her own husband.

(1Co 7:3) Let the husband give to the wife proper kindness, and likewise the wife also to the husband.

(1Co 7:4) The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband. And likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife.

(1Co 7:5) Do not deprive one another, unless it is with consent for a time, so that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. And come together again so that Satan does not tempt you for your incontinence.

(1Co 7:6) But I speak this according to permission, not according to commandment.

NOW..... what is wrong with Making Love to your Husband?

Perhaps you may have "Peri-Menopause?"

HAVE you gone to your OB-GYN for Testing?

Thanks, RR
