How am i wrong?!?

i've gotten into debates with many religious ppl and they have said im wrong to think they way i do.....my belief is simply...IF there is a God i do not believe in him, like ok yea he's there but when i'm going thru tough times i pray to my father and a close friend that passed away an ask for them to give me a hand.... my deal is , AND IM NOT BASHIN ANY RELIGION!!!, its that i feel ppl that looked out for me an took care of me while they were alive still can from heaven (if such a place exists)......so how is it so wrong for me to say if there is a god i don't place my faith in him but in lost relatives? its kinda like saying your not my friend but i respect you

See i love how ppl that try to throw religion into my face contradicting themselves!! how did jesus die for YOUR sins if you weren't around when he was?! how did we all originate from a Caucasian couple? because you CANNOT get Black from white yet you can pull all colors from Black...how do you follow your whole lifestyle on a book "THE HOLY BIBLE" that it self is a LIE! holy means pure UNTAINTED but yet you have the king jame's version and soo many others...its like me starting a religion on a compilation of dr suess books :-D...those who were actually chill with their responses thanks an that above was not to you

I could totally go for the Dr. Seuss religion. Probably make more sense than any organized religion to date.

It's not wrong, your entitled to have your own opinions.

Religion is a very touchy subject to many people because it's a belief which can not be proved. Kind of like an emotion, it can't be explained it just is.

The are also fanatics, I don't know who you asked.

But if you ask a religeous person that is not a fanatic they will tell you that God works in mysterious ways. That he took your loved ones away for a reason, that the reason is not always known by mear mortals but there is a good reason.

The reason may be because he wanted to make you stronger and more self sufficient. Know one really knows.


Religeous people tend to get some solice and peace of mind with their beliefs, but if it does'nt work for you then you are welcome to find a method to help you.

Neither is right or wrong, it's a faith.

That's why I keep my beliefs private, it's not worth the argument. I don't try to change anyone else's and don't want anyone else changing mine.

It seems to take some kind of faith to believe that someone who died can help you.

I am sorry you don't believe in God - but if you can't believe in the God who created the heavens and the earth and all living things, how is it you can believe that people who passed away, people who were regular folks, have power after their death to help you? No disrespect at all intended - I am sorry for your losses.

I have found that God was always looking out for me - even during a period of my life when I thought that the only reason I was allowed to step on a rug, was so it could be pulled out from under me. Now I see how, even in those times, God was orchestrating something for my life.

I pray that God reveals Himself to you.

The problem with that is 2 fold.

1. Until one prays (sincearly) the prayer of repentance, and asks forgivness any other prayer by that person is not heard (listened to).

2. When a human dies one of two things happen, either...
A: Sleeps until Christ's return (If they served the Lord)
B: Is imprisoned spiritualy in a dark, lonely prison until the resurection at which time they will be destroyed, (both body and soul) in the lake of fire prepared for Satan.

That makes you a prime candidate for Chinese ancestor worship. My problem with your idea is that if there is no God, how would your relatives continue on after death? If they had no mysterious powers in life, how would they help you now that they don't even have a body to manipulate matter? I don't think you can have it both ways. Either there is a supreme being and people continue on after their demise, or there is no God and when we die, we die.

Because you're putting your faith in man instead of God. Dead relatives can't help you - not ever. You are saying your dead relatives have become your God and you trust in them (man) instead of God.

If you continue praying to the dead, you may end up with a familiar spirit or evil spirit. This evil spirit will only do evil to you.

I understand what you are saying but who do you think help them help you and when you are going through tough times you can't just pray to God if you don't believe in him and his words or even if you do believe in him and have NO faith nothing will become of it...just try him you just might like him..o yea Africans pray to their ancestors and it makes no sense how can they help you if they are in HEAVEN then they do not remember you and if they are in HELL then they can't even help themselves...SMILE
