I'm a teen athlete and I need to stay fit this summer, so does anyone know a perfect summer diet plan so that I can stay healthy!! I need something that is not too fattening, because I need to stay slender. Also, I am a vegetarian, so keep that in mind!

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (soy products, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Well being a vegetarian limits your choices and bad selections. ;)

I'm not a health nut by all means, but just eat lots of fruits and veggies. Stay away from cheese and dressings high in fat.

Also, being an athlete, it's important that you get protein for your muscles. Some vegetarians eat fish and if you do, that is a great source of proteins. Otherwise, stick to certain nuts like almonds and walnuts. Avoid peanuts, cashews, etc.

Ofcourse - plenty of water!
