My dad is on a business trip, and has administrator rights on the computer. He usually reviews what I am going to install, and allows me by typing in the password himself. However, he's the only one who knows the password to install things, and I have to install some program to research things on my class, AP U.S History. It's really important for a report, and he won't be back by then. I can't contact him for some reason, and wondered if I could install it without being an administrator. Thanks.

this way for PC computer (win dose)
1) restart computer
2) when Show black screen Hit F8
3) after Hit F8 Show Some options
4) you select run with safe mode
5) the computer run on safe mode you can Establishment of another account and select admin Characteristics
after that you can install any program

Short of a password cracker, no. You could call him, but I guess you can't get in contact with him.
To install programs you -must- have administrator privledges. If you think your dad would be okay with it, do a Google search for 'Windows password cracker' and set it working on your dad's account. When he gets back, make sure you tell him!

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. The only way to reset your windows password 100% safe is to use a software called Reset Password Pro.
The software allows you to create a boot-disk, that can be made on a CD/DVD or USB stick. The boot-disk can then be inserted into any locked machine, and it's a simple case of pressing reset. Here is their official site: http://www.resetwindowspass.com

it really depends on the software. if you have another computer it would be easier, obviously. but you could try copying the files from the install from another computer onto yours.

you cant, you need to press F8 doring power on then boot into safe mode there you can change you user account type
