I got a 5 1/2 months old female shih tzu, she had an umbilical hernia and 9 days ago she had it removed, yesterday when I checked her she has a bump where her hernia was, it almost looks like a hernia again and I also found another bump in her inguinal, so I want to know if the hernia could come back as a complication from the surgery and why this other bump appeared, I know wasnt there before cuz I used to play with her all the time before the surgery and never felt it, so Im really concern on what this could be some friend told me her dog had a tumor there, but I just dont know why appeared right after the surgery, Im suppose to take her to the vet next week to get the stitches removed but I want to know what I should be aware of to ask the vet, I will appreciate any advice, thanks.

Well, Im worried cuz I read that INGUINAL HERNIAS are prevalent in shih-tzu, yes I have read that sometimes dissapears as they grow, I just love my pup too much and I dont want to lose her, even thou she pees in my bed when I put her on it lol, the vet didnt want to see me earlier, he said I have to wait and if she has a hernia they will operate again, I just dont know if I should let them do it again since the first time didnt work

it's rare for a 5 and a 1/2 month old to get a tumor - was a your friend's dog very old? Don't worry abot the tumor thing - it could be swelling around the situres - has she been licking? if she has stop her - it could make it infected. I'm surprised they didn't use a glue instead of situres - it's a dissolve glue that doesn't require to be taken out. The bump could also be how the way it heal since it was situres - it happens for humans too - infact I had surgery a while back ad so did my friend - we both had a bump on the site of the situres - and a little Keloid did the trick to shrink the bump - Since she is only 5 and a 1/2 months old - that means shes still has a little growing to do - if it's a mear bump from the wound closing it will go away.

It could be swelling around the sutures. She could also be having a reaction to the suture that was used although that's not common. You should have her rechecked sooner than her suture removal. One of the veterinary technicians (similar to a nurse in human medicine) should be able to take a quick peek for you and tell you whether the doctor need to look at it or not.

this can happen on occasion I would call teh vet though and ask if tehy want' to see the dog before the appointment next week. If the area becomes infected you don't waant to wait to long.
I hope is really nothing but don't take chances

no longer for any political motives, yet Quincy (John Quincy Adams) or Grover (Grover Cleveland) are stable canines names. Plus, Cleveland served 2 nonconsecutive words...he stored coming returned. regardless of you do do no longer do what Obama did and make contact with the canines after your self like he did with Bo (Barack Obama's initials), exceedingly tackles.

These lumps can be just swelling around the stitches. Don't get to worried until you see your vet. I seriously doubt it's a tumor.
If your that concerned please call your vet and see if they can get you in sooner to check the incision site.
