I am half Indian (the Asian kind) and half German. I have brown hair and green eyes and my skin tone is like Jessica Alba's but paler in winter. I don't want to tan too much this summer or ever ... not that I am not proud of my heritage I just don't want to get dark. Help!

Wear sunscreen & re-apply often. Neutrogena's spray on SPF is the most convenient: http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_325.asp?lProductLineID=15

Wear a wide brimmed sun hat. There are special clothes impregnated w/ SPF too. e.g. http://www.sunprecautions.com/

In addition to lots of sunscreen as others suggested, you can wear a thin shirt over your cooler clothes and if you go swimming you can wear a skirt wrap over your swimsuit. I burn very easily so I almost always have a thin button down long sleeved shirt on over a tank top this time of year.

Of course the simplest solution is to stay indoors as much as possible, but who wants to do that this time of year?

I would be so happy if I was dark! I think you should embrace your "darkness."

If you REALLY don't want to get any darker, apply tons of sunscreen and don't go out when it is really sunny outside. That's what I do. I suppose I should be doing the opposite to get a tan. Lawlz.

Hope this helps... :)

sunblock, sunblock, sunblock!! put on sunblock everyday before going outside, not just at the beach. maybe try getting a sunblock made for babies, because those have a very high spf, usually like spf 75!!

wear hats, avoid the direct sun, and always wear sunscreen. I bring an umbrella to the beach, it keeps you cool and out of the sun!!
