In the Navy what is the form of address for a Female Officer.

For example a Captain may call a Male Lieutenant, Mister XYZ but what about a Female officer in the same situation what would it be Miss?

Surly it can't be Mister as someone suggested to me, can it?

I think a few miss understand i mean a senior officer addressing an officer of lower rank, not the other way around.

The correct address from senior officer to junior officer is Mister xxxxx, regardless of gender.

In actual practice, however, they simply say Lieutenant (or whatever rank the junior is) xxxxx, to avoid confusion on this issue.

Enlisted to female officer will always be Yes, Ma'am or Yes, rank.

You will address a female officer as Ma'am or by
her rank and then her last name. You do not call a male officer by mister, unless the officer is a Warrant Officer!! For better courtesy, you would
address officers by their rank and last name!!
Also a male officer would be addressed as SIR!!

I'm not at liberty to tell you what WE used to call them. But, with regards to formality and respect of rank, Ma'am or their rank.

calling an officer "Mister" is traditional, as such there is no "Miss Johnson" rather, "Lt. Johnson".
