I remember, when I was only 16, I had an accident on my motorcycle on one of the dangerous roads ( you know, the roads with many bends, on aegean big hills, nearby the coast...)
Because of speed, I get out of the road,, and I fell with my motorcycle...Thanks God, my fall was stopped by a fir tree which prevented me to die, while my motorcycle fell 50 m down in a ravine...

A few minutes later, a driver saw me and called an ambulance...
And I had only just a few slight injuriess on my knees and arms...
It was a miracle...

Have you already lived a similar situation ?..

I never tell this story. But since we are all anonymous here I will.Sometimes it takes a little pressure off.
In 1972 ,I was in Viet Nam.Most of the hostilities were over but we had a few good flare ups.I was attached to some army surgeons, nurses and Red Cross volunteers to guide and sort of watch out for them as we went to some "Vills"(villages) around the the "safe " Delta area. They wanted to vaccinate for polio and give Quinine for malaria and just help .I totally had my guard down and sat my BAR 30 cal by a wall and was sort of helping. My partner was wandering around the backside of the Vill. These peoeple were superstitious about shots and stuff so when an old "Papasan" said "Cong, beaucoup Cong"(a bunch of Viet Cong),I just brushed it off.
I saw an Amaerican jeep heading towards town and saw alot of black "PJs" in it.My heart statred pounding! There was six of them and they looked at me for a brief second.I glanced at the wall where my weapon was (15 feet away).I almost threw my hands up ,but I reached behind me and pulled a 32 caliber little nickle plated revolver I had taken off a kill 2 months earlier.I just said "F*** it",I had people depending on me and I knew what they'd do to the nurses.I fired and headed for the wall. They fired back and the AK47 ammo was whizzing past me ,I thought that was it I saw one go down .I grabbed my BAR and went to work as Sgt Clemens came around and cleaned up the other side.We smoked them all in about 15 seconds of blaring, smoking ,confusion.I had 4 grazes in my uniform but no hits, just a little blood.I was due to go home later that month. Was I ever glad .After that the CO kept me around camp, then sent me to Saigon and said I wouldn't be so lucky next time and I was to stay put until I rotated out.
"No argument here!,"I said
Sorry if it wasn't a good story I'm not a writer.

I was very drunk, in the back of an SUV with a bunch of friends. The driver rolled down the back window, and I got the brilliant idea that it would be great to sit on the tailgate and have the breeze blow through my hair, rather than sit on a spare tire with my stinky friends.

So I wriggled out, and went to rest my arms on the roof of the SUV, when the driver accelerated. I pitched backwards, and would have smashed on the roadway like a rotten pumpkin had my stinky friends not grabbed my ankles.

I dangled, hanging out the back of the SUV for several blocks before my friends managed to communicate to the driver what was going on. Meanwhile I was giggling, hanging upside down and waving at the people behind us.

Had my friends not been quick enough to grab my ankles, I'd certainly be dead now. Considering how drunk we were, that was pretty much a miraculous save.

But since I'm an atheist, who exactly was responsible for that miracle?

It was the Great God Hoo, who protects drunks, sometimes despite themselves. He's not always successful, and he often requires a sacrifice of cheap pizza and hot dogs - delivered to a street or toilet bowl soon after the miracle. And that was when I became a devout Hooligan.

Yes , I can say that I myself have come very close to death a few times ,like the time I was hoping a freight train and almost went under the wheels and almost got ran over under the steel wheels which would have been a very bloody mess indeed ,and yes I saw my whole life flash before me .There was another time when I overdosed on drugs and went through the tunnel to the other side but got sent back because it was not my time. I found it all a very scary indeed, just like a bad dream and then you wake up.

Yes, actually I have. Oddly enough I never cried out to the Christian god to save me. I've nearly died in a boat accident and in a automobile accident. And in fact both cases I had NDEs none of which matched up with Christianity, go figure. They actually more resembled Norse mythology. And in fact, as distinct as the memories are, I would say they did.

I was held at knife point and gun point over my ex-best friend's drug debt. I have been in 1 totaled cars where if I had been sitting anywhere else I would have died. Also, I have been told I was going to die from illness over 5 different times and have flat-lined before.

Here is a good book 90 minutes in heaven. And yes, a life without Jesus will have you die for sure and not just in a physical nature...

God Bless--

Yes. My last thought was 'Oh, no! There are snakes on the island!' Then I was gone for a while. You know who revived me and had the sense to take care of me in a proper manner for days? One hint: Not your imaginary friend.
