I remember, when I was only 16, I had an accident on my motorcycle on one of the dangerous roads ( you know, the roads with many bends, on aegean big hills, nearby the coast...)
Because of speed, I get out of the road,, and I fell with my motorcycle...Thanks God, my fall was stopped by a fir tree which prevented me to die, while my motorcycle fell 50 m down in a ravine...
A few minutes later, a driver saw me and called an ambulance...
And I had only just a few slight injuriess on my knees and arms...
It was a miracle...
Have you already lived a similar situation ?...

A few times, yes. The first time was when I was about 3 years old. I had a bad cold and the doctor prescribed some medicine. The chemist gave me the wrong medicine and I was almost in a coma. My dad called the doctor, he rushed immediately and saved me (he was a Greek Cypriot).
Second time was when I was a soldier. It was my first (and last) time on a motorbike. My friend was riding it. He was going over 100kms.p.h. and we crashed into a VW van. I broke the world records for high jump and long jump. I flew over the van, crossed the road, crossed the pavement and landed on earth. It was a crash landing. I was lucky to escape with a cracked shoulder and a few stitches on my head.
Third time was during the war in Cyprus, 20th July, 1974. Thousands of bullets flew around me. A mortar shell exploded just a few meters away and I flew up in the air. At night, Greek Cypriot soldiers broke into every house and room and fired around. They missed our door. Perhaps a miracle. I could hear them saying "did we go in there?"
And the final time was in March 1999 when I was driving from Magusa to Lefkosa (Famagusta/Nicosia). I had a left-hand drive Renault 9 and tried to overtake a lorry. Suddenly I saw a red sports car coming towards me. The next thing I know was my car turned back towards Magusa, flipped over into the fields (3-4 times). Only the doors and part of the roof was damaged. I had two stitches on my head. I was lucky indeed.
p.s. Irmak my dear, the word is "menengites" (with my compliments).

I was very drunk, in the back of an SUV with a bunch of friends. The driver rolled down the back window, and I got the brilliant idea that it would be great to sit on the tailgate and have the breeze blow through my hair, rather than sit on a spare tire with my stinky friends. So I wriggled out, and went to rest my arms on the roof of the SUV, when the driver accelerated. I pitched backwards, and would have smashed on the roadway like a rotten pumpkin had my stinky friends not grabbed my ankles. I dangled, hanging out the back of the SUV for several blocks before my friends managed to communicate to the driver what was going on. Meanwhile I was giggling, hanging upside down and waving at the people behind us. Had my friends not been quick enough to grab my ankles, I'd certainly be dead now. Considering how drunk we were, that was pretty much a miraculous save. But since I'm an atheist, who exactly was responsible for that miracle? It was the Great God Hoo, who protects drunks, sometimes despite themselves. He's not always successful, and he often requires a sacrifice of cheap pizza and hot dogs - delivered to a street or toilet bowl soon after the miracle. And that was when I became a devout Hooligan.

actually mine is a bit funny. I nearly got drowned. I was around 5 or 6 and wasnt good at swimming. I was like messing around in the sea and suddenly I slipped and ı lost control and paniced ,with that panic I recognised my brothers legs ( since he was doing a headstand) and threw myself onto those legs. But of course he lost his stability and also came under the water with me . And after a while ı was safe and found myself dangling in my brothers hand .

I was a part time test pilot and I was expected to drive the car as fast as I could on the autobahn. I was riding with 250kmh stable when a car from the middle lane steered into my lane. I hit the brake at once, ABS, ASR and other systems kicked in, the front of the car steered towards the barriers and towards the middle lane, then it settled and I was bumper to bumper with the guy at 150 kmh! It was a close call and I am thankful to all those engineers behind that technology.
Mustafa abi, you truly are a survivor. Regards.

My experience wasn't as bad. It was when I was little riding on a boat during an eclipse. I got sea sick and decided to sleep at the front of the ship. When I woke up, my family told me I almost fell overboard sleeping when the waves got really big. (during an eclipse, the sea waves get REALLY huge)

Swimming with three big sharks in a deserted beach at Mount Athos... Somebody from the coast was shouting to warn me, but I relalized the danger only when I turned my head to see who he was shouting at...
P.S. I'm serious...Twenty years ago Mount Athos had a considerable variety of wild life, while in it's coats one could observe dolphins and sharks.. Not any longer...

when i was 14 i was walking home from school and i met a group of guys who had some kind of picnic...but one of the guys came to me, and took me like 5 metres away from others... he told me to sit on the rock...i dont really remember what he was asking me but it was something like "who do you think you are?" and etc...i was very nervous cause the guy was like 20 something and i didnt know what to answer because he was asking so many questions and he didnt give me time to answer...then he grabbed my hair with one hand and started to hit me in the face with another...then another guy came and told him to let me go...when he released me i ran as fast as i could and when i turned my head to look back that guy ran after me...i really thought that im going to be killed...but then all of a sudden the guy turned left but it seemed that he still was following me...it turned out that the guy was high and drunk and apparently didnt have any sense of direction but others were ok...so other guys ran after me to apologize but i didnt care...i just wanted to go home because i felt pain in my face because there were huge bruises on it...
