Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

The 10' twisted, beautiful vine, 1" in diameter told me it wanted to be over the window with fresh cut Cyperus papyrus foliage. Put it there, lovely. Dried perfectly in situ. Other wonderously shaped, curved, branched wood have become portions of landscape because they (told me they) fit there.

It's mobile. Put it any and every where until it says, "This is the place." Play!

Oh, to answer your question, you don't have to treat it with anything. Let it dry naturally, then work with it, oil? beeswax? many other options.
