During my short trip over the R&S i noticed that muslims show high respect when they speak about christians and their belief while the christians, or some of them to be honest, show hatred and say many bad things about muslims and their belief. Why???

Atheist here, BTW.

I'm not one of the people who live in this category, but bounce in now and then.

Here's my take on this.

The site, at least the English language part, is predominantly American.

There aren't a LOT of Muslims here at all, in comparison with the Christians.

I HAVE seen some posts from Muslims that were every bit as hateful as the worst of the Christians, BTW.

Yahoo has recently gotten rid of a lot of trolls, so the hate has dropped off a bit. (More trolls appear to take their place, of course, but I've seen this site a LOT worse than now.)

Dunno about the UK and Australia, but here in the U.S. there has been a LOT of anti-Muslim propaganda. There's even at least one such result in the answers to your question.

It's taken as a given among those who listen to hate radio and watch Fox news that all Muslims live only to murder everyone who isn't Muslim.

It's not true that all Christians are hate-filled, in fact I've seen quite a few that actually seem to have gotten Jesus's message about being decent human beings.

In general, we all NOTICE the ugly stuff more. Your question shows this, where you say "the Christians, or some of them".

Also, the more hate-filled people tend to post more questions than other people, and a question is more prominent than any one answer, which you have to click to even see.

Unlike Christianity, Islam explicitly teaches respect for those of the "parent" religions (as it were).

Since it was last, there's no explicit teaching in Christianity about Islam at all; it didn't exist, as Christianity did in Mohammed's time.

So, Christians who hate are free to ADD this "improvement" for the Kool Aide drinkers to swallow.

So, for all these reasons, and probably a few more, you're more likely to SEE hate coming from Christians than from Muslims here.

BTW, hate and incitement to violence, as well as slurs and insults (and non-questions and non-answers) are all violations of the Guidelines -- click the link, bottom of page to read them.

Thus, when you see them, please click Report Abuse and submit the resulting form.

If Yahoo agrees, the post will be removed, and the user docked. Chronic abusers are banned.

Please help Yahoo make this site a place for CIVILIZED discourse.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam all derive from an analogous hassle-unfastened religions. frequently Judaism believes contained in the Torah, this is the previous testomony for all intents and purposes with another teachings. they do no longer settle for Jesus as a prophet or the Messiah (this is what Christians have confidence). i think which you have that at a loss for words with Islam on your question. Muslims have confidence that Jesus is barely considered one of a sequence of prophets. they suspect that Allah (god) has spoken to human beings contained in the previous however the older prophets had God's observe incorrect. And that Muhammad is the prophet that have been given it appropriate so which you will possibly communicate. Their concept gadget that comes from the Koran (the writings of the Prophet Muhammad) which has a gadget standard as pillars. There are 5 pillars contained in the Koran. All 3 books, the Torah, the Bible and the Koran are very comparable of their messages yet fluctuate in the thank you to stick to those teachings. in case you elect for to get an expertise of the adaptation you ought to attempt interpreting the others.

The teachings of Islam and our beloved Prophet (PBUH) teach us, Muslims to give respect to other religions and to never insult anyone's belief, so we Muslims, always show respect to people from other relgions who are decent, and we also respect other religions.
Not all of the Christians hate Islam, many of them are good, decent and of positie thinking. Yes, many of them hate Muslims and Islam, and show prejuidice about Islam. So, we will always answer them (Inshah Allah). I know a Christian family personally in Pakistan, my country. In Pakistan Muslims and Christians live with peace and love. When Christians in Pakistan celebrate Christmas, Muslim also share their happiness.

Media, is also playing a major role in spreading hatred in Christian's hearts for Muslims.
Some of them just hate us, because they want to.

I am a Christian and I do not hate them. I know alot of Christians and if they are true Christians then they would not hate them either, unless they are immature Christians, but you can say that about the Muslims too. I am sure that there are alot of Muslims that hate Christians too, but I will take on the attitude and character of Christ and say "God forgive them for they do not know what they do" even though Jesus was getting beaten and spit on then nailed to the cross he still asked God to forgive them(the Romans that did this to Jesus)...Now that is a true example on how we should be. Forgiveness no matter what. Most Muslims want to kill people because the people do not have the same belief as them...that is crazy don't you think.

There are fools, nutcases, and hate-mongers in all faith traditions. I do not have the time or patience for them.

I am a Muslim. I was brought up by Christian parents who taught me to respect all faith traditions, not just Christianity only. They respected people. They could care less if anyone wasn't Christian. They were never judgmental. As far as they were concerned, we all belong to one diverse human family under Almighty God. As a devout Muslim, I still share their views. Always will.

Some Christians don't understand Muslims or Islam. Some Muslims don't understand Christians or Christianity. The way to understand other faiths is to study them and gain an understanding about different beliefs then your own.

keep in mind that just because someone claims to be a Christian or a Muslim doesn't mean they are. it's what lies in their heart that truly defines them. i think it's stereotypical both ways - not all Christians are hostile toward Muslims, and not all Muslims are hostile toward Christians. granted, there are some, but we shouldn't judge an entire religion based on the actions of a few.

Thank you for pointing that out!
Sadly there is alot of intolerance in R&S.
I am a Muslim and I think it is best to respect all people, even if u don't share the same beliefs. Islam teaches us to respect Christians, Jews, everyone.
The whole worls would be a much much better place if everyone could show more respect and tolerance for each other, no matter what their religion or race.

For those of u who think Islam is about killing non Muslims - YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!
Those people who kill innocent people are NOT true Muslims, they are barbaric extremists, they are NOT true Muslims. A true Muslim would respect others even if they don't share the same beliefs.

Not all Muslims are respectful on here, but most are. As for the latter, have you ever read any of Punter's questions? Prime example of being RUDE and disrespectful.

Most of the Christians on here are respectful as well from what I've seen. Of course, that could be because I tend to ignore the ones that aren't polite.

We believe in God, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the Prophets from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another.] (Aal `Imran 3:84) Islam teaches the respect of all beliefs. As is borne out by this command of God in the Qur’an, Muslims must believe in all the prophets of God previously sent to humanity. This means that they are not permitted to show any disrespect to any prophet or to the religion he taught to his followers. To a Muslim, religious belief must come out of a person’s free choice, as God has also commanded not to use any kind of coercion in the matter of religion: [Let there be no compulsion in religion, truth stands out clear from error.]
