I heard 2 different theories. One states that if you were born with a mole ( or more ) on your body, you are at a high risk of getting cancer if you do not get it removed.

The other states that if you have it/them surgically removed, that will be a high risk of cancer.

Just askin cuz i have a tiny mole on my back and it drives me nuts. I wanted it to get removed but without bad consequences.

This is not true.
Newborn babies are not born with moles, only birthmarks, some which are called Hemangiomas, which are basically clusters of blood cells.

Later in life, moles develop the same way as freckles.

Some moles can become cancerous which are called "melanomas" and have to be removed.
If moles are not cancerous, having them removed does not cause your body to get cancer after the removal.

moles can be okay =they can be removed when needed to be too=it doesn't mean that you will get cancer=cancer could already be there before they are taken off=my daughter has several and the Dr is keeping an eye on them=isn't taking them off unless they get flaky and festered= so there you go ,still no answer right=just think positive about things

removing a mole has nothing to do with getting or not getting cancer. if a mole changes to a darker color, that's when they are considered a risk. if it bothers you, have it removed. i've had it done a few times. no cancer here.

And I have a few moles myself. What I've heard is if the mole suddenly changes shape or size, then you have reason for concern.
