I do no think this should be a Christian Nation. This nation was founded by those who were prosecuted for their religions beliefs. Our Fore Fathers and Mothers came to this country seeking the freedom to practice their religion as they saw fit. The Constitution guarantees the freedom of religion. Our Fore Fathers our Grand Fathers our Fathers our sons our daughters, sisters and brothers our husbands and wives are fighting for what we all hold dear. The freedom to choose. Freedom isn't Free. It is paid for by the blood and tears of those who choose to fight for those freedoms. It is what separates us from the regimes that kill innocents like the Nazi's and the Taliban. It is not a religion that leads people astray it is the zealots that twist it to their own schemes.

Constitutional amendments>
Bill of Rights>
Amendment the First>
We Have the Freedom of RELIGION, SPEECH, PETITION, and GATHERING.
The founding fathers did not have to think about these rights twice. The pigrims came for freedom of religion, Puritans came for religion and some for speech. The British did not allow gatherings, not even an auction or 2-without consent of the British army that was occupying the closest town.
It would have CHRISTA IN Churches instead of mosques and Synagogues and temples. It would be bases on Christa in laws (if there is such a thing.) They would either be evacuated, or killed like the Holocaust. Except this would be with Muslims, Jews, Hindus, CATHOLICS, PROTESTANTS, METHODISTS, Sikhs, and atheists, etc. No they wouldn't- they would be treated like the native Americans and the mexicanos were when Tejas(TEXAS) gained it's Independence, as well as the Mexican cession, gadsen purchase, and the Florida Equitation. Or the blacks before or after the 1800's civil war. If they were allowed to stay.
That is what it would be if you meant a CHRISTA IN ONLY country.
But a Christan DOMINANT country it already is. They all would be treated like they are know. They just wouldn't be struggling for equality if they came out and said that they were a Christan country.

It is not a Christian nation. they can say that it is all day but that will not make it so.
It should not become a Christian nation. It should remain as it was founded - a nation where everyone has the right to choose their religion or to choose none. THAT was the founding principle, not Christianity.
Americans in general are quick to point out the errors of "Muslim nations" where you must live by Muslim beliefs and how horrible that is yet seem to have no problem thinking everyone should live by the Christian religion.
A Christian nation would be absurd by any standard. Which sect would rule? It would tear the country apart as each sect demands that their version of the bible be followed.

This nation was founded and thrived on Christian moral values. I think it has gone a long way away from it but there is still the ability for religious revival and a large movement to turn towards God's ways.
Should this nation be Christian? Yes, I believe it should because of the values and morals that TRUE Christianity teaches. Love of neighbor, self-sacrifice, love, kindness, work for the common good (non-government controlled), forgiveness of others wrongs, etc. These are the true values Christians should espouse.
TRUE religious freedom would be enforced. People could acknowledge their faith system anywhere without communist organizations (such as the ACLU) sueing them. Kids would not be segregated out of their school just to learn good moral values. Women would learn the truth about the sacredness of human life instead of being told to make it easier on themselves.

I think religion is so boring and stale. Originally our nation was built on a Christian foundation I think we should keep it that way. But I don't think we should push any sort of religion on any body. People have the right to believe in what they want. I think it would be a better idea to have christian leaders running our government. But no, it would be a bad idea b/c people would twist christianity even more than some people now do. They would make it a religion and not a relationship

I think America was created by christians and that most of the population is Christian in one way or another but i don't think it should be a Christian nation. You know that the Senate and Congress have prayer rooms of course they aren't used for that anymore. I don't think this should be a theocracy because even the founding fathers didn't want that to happen. Our founding fathers wanted christianity to be a part of America but not to run the country. Thats why we have safeguards in our founding documents that address this issue. Seperation of state and church doesn't mean that state denies the church but that the church will have no say in government issues. I think its great because the church is just as corrupt as most politicians except that the politicians aren't using god as a smoke screen. Plus what would be considered a Christian, there are a wide array of people who consider themselves Christian it be hard to pin it down specifically.

It's not supposed to be a theocracy but it behaves like one. Christians already give rights to themselves that they deny others. Why do you think they've been passing constitutional amendments to ban legal recognition of gay relationships. Hint: it's not to promote religion freedom. Of course, if we became an outright Christian nation, I can imagine the "re-education camps" for homosexuals, pagans and other "non-Christians" where people simply disappear into large ovens never to be heard from again. It's not like they haven't done it a million times before.

No! More people have died in the name of religion than any other cause. Look at Iraq. Muslims fighting Muslims because one is Sunni and the other is Shiite. Not so many years ago in Ireland Catholics and Protestants were killing each other. Everyone should be free to practice what ever religion flips their switch. Unless of course that religion involves the killing of other people of other beliefs. All laws for all people.

The USA is a free nation with a lot of Christians, but not a Christian nation. I don't want our government forcing any religious belief on us. Please keep government out of our lives as much as possible. Then we would have more rights and freedoms.
God Bless.

There are too many belilef's in USA and having it be a Christian nation would be wrong. I just want everyone to be able to continue to worship as they wish and not have any one doctrine dominate. I don't think Christ would want that either as He wants us to come to Him by act of free will not because we have to. Our founding fathers came here so they could worship the way they pleased. It needs to be that way now.
