Read Dante, you'll get a clear picture on how the Catholic church warped the words She ohl and Hades and used it as a scare tactic and money making scheme. When you come to know God, and have a personal relationship with him, you cannot fathom him doing something like sending his children to be tortured forever. The ultimate price for sin is Death. That's it. You sin? You die. That's it. It's a plus that Jesus came down and died for our sins, and in that way all of us sinners have a chance at everlasting life.

The doctrine of hell is so frightening that numerous heretical sects end up denying the reality of an eternal hell. The Unitarian-Universalists, the Seventh-Day Adventists, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Christadelphians, the Christian Scientists, the Religious Scientists, the New Agers, and the Mormons—all have rejected or modified the doctrine of hell so radically that it is no longer a serious threat. In recent decades, this decay has even invaded mainstream Evangelicalism, and a number of major Evangelical figures have advocated the view that there is no eternal hell—the wicked will simply be annihilated.

But the eternal nature of hell is stressed in the New Testament. For example, in Mark 9:47–48 Jesus warns us, "[I]t is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, where the worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched." And in Revelation 14:11, we read: "And the smoke of their torment goes up for ever and ever; and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name."

yes, if you have no relationship with Jesus Christ as your Savior you will spend eternity in hell. Hell is not a pleasant place but a place of torture. You will be punished for your sins if there is no relation with Christ in your heart.

Here are some Bible verses for further information on Hell:
Psalm86:13
Matthew8:12
Matthew24:41
Romans1:8-20
2Peter2:4-9
Jude1:7
Revelation21:8

these are not the only places in the Bible that speak of Hell but here are a few...

We don't even know who is going to hell, and only God knows that. I really want you to concentrate on Heaven. Heaven is where you will go and I am told and read that Heaven is so glorious. Sounds like your a good, caring person and wants to know what will happen. None of us really know as it will remain one of Gods Mysteries, until that special day when God calls us home. So think of the Positive and Happiness of our Lives here on Earth. In the Holy Bible it says: We never know what hour He cometh. So instead of worry about the un-known future , live everyday to the fullest. Think of Heaven and not hell. Peace be with you and may God lift your Spirit and give you Faith.

to answer your Question, yes lost souls who did not recieve jesus christ as their personal lord and savior while in the living are damned to hell ,where they are tortured for all eternity. the bible explains it as" weeping and gnashing of teeth" it's a real place so you will feel it. this means total separation from god, this world we live in want so much to Quiet god in every way, one day soon they will get their wish. but i can assure you millions will regret it! the mere fact that we are able to wake up and see another beautiful day is not only evidence of god's presence, but it's a reflection of his abounding love for his creation you & i, as well as his long suffering, mercy & grace. people say if god is a loving god why would he send someone to hell? and they would be right! God wouldn't send you to hell... the unrepented sinner is more capable of doing that themselves. what people don't understand is god is HOLY!!! he does not change he's the same god yesterday, today and forever. that's why he gave us a free will to choose life or death. he knows we as humans crave the right to make our own choices. bottom line is God loves all his creation, he thinks about you every second of the day!! and he wants to have a close & personal relationship with you beloved. it must grieve him terribly to see tens of thousands of his creation die and go to Hell daily by rejecting his son jesus christ . the bible says the road that leads to destruction is wide and many are on it. don't take that route beloved. invite jesus into your life today. if you need spiritual guidence i can help. may god keep you and bless you.

I'll give you the Islamic version of Jahannam(Hell). On the day of Judgement bad Muslims and non Muslims like Athiests and other religions will go to Jahannam. They will take 70,000 years to hit the bottom of Jahannam. During that time ALLAH(SWT) will burn off all their flesh and let it come back to be burned off again for all eternity. The waters of Jahannam will be so hot that when you drink it your brain will evaporate from the heat. Bad Muslims who go there will only be there until all their sins are taken care of and then they will go to Jinnah(Heaven). But non belivers in ALLAH(SWT) and Muhammad(PBUH*) will burn in Jahannam for all eternity. This is from what my husband has informed me and what he tells me is in the Qur'an.

I used to think we burned in flames for eternity but what if it's like God's recycle box. Maybe hell is where we get deleted from existance. That'd be a scary thought. I don't know though.

I'm sure you will get a lot of repsonses from Christians who will tell you in "loving" detail the sorts of torments waiting everyone in Hell.

The entire idea of an eternal hell pretty much flies in the face of "justice", "mercy", and whatever other descriptives Christians try to make about their god.

There's no such place. The concept of hell is a hateful creation to control Christians and other monotheists, to keep them terrified of stepping out of line or having independent thought.

Don't worry about it. You're not going to hell. In order to go to a place it has to exist, right? Hell does not exist.
