The Bible presents death as separation: physical death is the separation of the soul from the body, and spiritual death is the separation of the soul from God. Death is the result of sin..

for the saved, death ushers us into the presence of Christ

For the unsaved, death brings to an end the chance to accept God’s gracious offer of salvation. “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” -Hebrews 9:27

Well you heard the opinions of people claiming to be christian, but lets look at what the Bible it self tells us about the condition of the dead remember Jesus was a Jew & he taught from the OT, here's what he said when his friend Lazirus had died

(John 11:11-13) . . .He said these things, and after this he said to them: “Laz′a‧rus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep.” 12 Therefore the disciples said to him: “Lord, if he has gone to rest, he will get well.” 13 Jesus had spoken, however, about his death. But they imagined he was speaking about taking rest in sleep.

(Ecclesiastes 9:5) 5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.

(Ecclesiastes 3:18-21) . . .I, even I, have said in my heart with regard to the sons of mankind that the [true] God is going to select them, that they may see that they themselves are beasts. 19 For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20 All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust. 21 Who is there knowing the spirit of the sons of mankind, whether it is ascending upward; and the spirit of the beast, whether it is descending downward to the earth?

the bible does not teach that the soul survives, in fact all living things are souls,

(Matthew 20:28) 28 Just as the Son of man came, not to be ministered to, but to minister and to give his soul a ransom in exchange for many.”

You haven't heard? When we christians answer questions like this it is considered shoving God down other people's throats.

But I will answer anyway. We believe there is a heaven and hell after you die.

To go to heaven you must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Believe he is the Son of God, lived his life as a man, was crucified and died but rose on the 3rd day and is alive in heaven today. You must accept him into your heart and life and abide by his commandments and teachings.

To go to hell - Don't believe or adhere to any of the above.

Those are God's rules. It is that simple. The choice is yours.
God bless you

If you are a born again Christian then you go to heaven and be with Jesus forever and ever. Christians therefore are not afraid of death because of this.

When I die I'm outta here, hasta la bye bye, I'm going to the place that's the best. Back to from whence I came originally, back to my God. It is a magnificently glorious place beyond any imagining.

They think you go either to a wonderful paradise in the sky or to a burning lake under the ground.

Funny huh?

Especially since the idea of hell is translated so many diff ways in their bible.
