Here are some possible things that might have happened: 1. She has something stuck in her paw like, a piece of glass. If so, she will need a vet's help. It could get worse, every time she steps it could dig further in her paw. 2. She might have got stung by a bee. Check her paw for a stinger stuck in it. If you find one you will need to scrape it out with a credit card, or something flat. 3. Are there snakes where you live? If there is, she might have been bitten. Some snakes, when they bite, cause no bleeding. She will need immediate vet help. 4. She might have pulled a muscle. If so, relax her for a long time. You can also keep ice on it. If this happened she will probably be fine. If you don't think that it is any of these please take your dog to the vet. I hope I helped.

If you've been to the vet and they said nothing is broken or it will go down, try Epson* salt.

One of our dobes tweeked a few toes (luckily not broken), and I had to soak his foot in luke warm water with Epson* salt. It wasn't easy at first, because he had to actually stand in the large bowl that I used and he didn't want any part of it. But with a handful of treats he was more than cooperative!
Swelling was gone by the 3rd day.
