Because it's a sin and misusing the beautiful body God gave you.
We are to treat our bodies as temples where the spirit of the Lord can dwell.
Procreation is sacred, masturbation is mocking that sacredness.

I don't think it should be, but I can see why some people think it should be.
The argument FOR guilt is that it is inherently selfish. It does not promote any kind of consideration for others. I guess it is a form of anti-social behavior in that it shuns away others. I don't think that having sexual fantasies is the guilt-causing ingredient here (since that seems okay in the context of a mutual relationship), but the fantasies are an easy target. I think it is more about the "anti-social" aspects about it.
The argument AGAINST guilt is that sexual activity is necessary, and fantasy is inevitable. I do not believe that the administration of something pleasurable is wrong in any way -- whether to oneself or to another. I don't think that someone should feel guilty for doing somerthing selfish once in awhile. Masturbation, in a way, validates one's needs. It is a manifestation that a person has allowed themselves permission to go after something they want.
Masturbation is not guilt-ridden. The only difference between it and mutual sexual behavior is that it is performed alone. We do not exist for the sake of always sacrificing our selves for the sake of others. We can perform something for our OWN sake once in a while!

The guilt tripping is how you view masturbation. If you don't think masturbation is wrong, there is nothing to feel guilty about.

So, orgasm are beneficial to your health. How is that defiling your body, when it's, it's own anti-aging device? Setting off all these endorphines and whatnots (that's right, you can jog or play with spanky. Same diff).
Deeper than masturbation is why is such a large mass of humanity taught to ignore their sexuality? Frozen, isn't good.

I do not see why anyone should feel a guilt trip over something that is biologically natural to human beings.

Because we're doing by ourselves and we've always been told that sex is bad. I've been masturbating everyday since I was 12 yrs old.

Sexuality was so repressed a long time ago....so they made masturbation taboo.
Anything sexual wasn't to be enjoyed.

If you're a girl and you're not masturbating in front of a mirror for AT LEAST four hours each and every day, then you're doing something wrong.

The way I see it is this: I work very hard to pay the bills, and if I want to treat myself to a 'Pearl Bracelet' every once in awhile, that's my business.
