Most basements have a drain in them and if you tip it over after removing the pad and cap and prop a few old books or catalogs under the neck you can adjust how fast the water comes out without having to hold it the entire time and also by holding your hand over the opening. If you can't locate the drain or its covered by carpeting then use a wet dry vac and a length of hose down into the base. You can fashion a fairly good and water tight fitting with a funnel and some duck tape to fit in between the garden hose and the hose of the wet/dry vac and then empty the wet dry vac several times outside till you get most of the water out and then you can take the base outside and empty what is left.

First, remove the vinyl-covered punching area (it pulls right off when lifted from overhead).

Second, tilt the base and with control (so it doesn't flop over or get away from you) roll it to your nearest floor drain (the shower floor of your changing area perhaps, or a sink or outside if you can).

Next, pull the cap cover off, and tilt the base over until the water starts coming out. It'll come out slowly at first, but as more water comes out, you'll be able to tilt the base more so that more water can come out more quickly.

Pain in the rear to do, but it's one of few negatives involved with the Wavemaster.
