The only problem is that she will make the ultimate decision. I'm very indecisive. I think I did good, the class liked it. My only fault was that I read some of my notes, but it was my first speech. Should I give myself an "A"? I just don't want her to think I'm arrogant.

Did you give an "A" level speech? Was it truly outstanding? Was there no room for improvement? It doesn't sound like it. Give yourself an honest grade and let the teacher 'upgrade' it if she wants to.

Two approaches:
1. Create yourself a little score card with a few areas of observations (eye contact, organization, etc.) and a scale, score yourself on each item and see where you come out.

2. Score yourself aB+ or A-, that shows you have room for improvement--that is if you think you deserve it.

yes.
give yourself an A-, or if your really concerned, a B+.
Chances are, you should get an A>
dont lose that chance for worrying about how you come across.
