Wisconsin native Alan Kulwicki was the first Winston Cup Champion with a college degree AND the first champion not born in a southern state. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a degree in mechanical engineering. Too bad he left us after his 1992 cup winning season. RIP.

A lot have college degrees. THe crew chiefs and several people in the crew are have engineering degrees. It takes people with real knowledge to build and maintain a Car for racing. Not all of the drivers have college degrees but pretty much all of those in the pit crew are.

Yes, several of them, but I can tell by your question, you didn't. Ryan Newman, J Gordon, J Burton, and several more. All the other guys went to the school of hard knocks. Oh, I'm not sure but I think Tony went to the reform School for Bad Boys. And Michael Waltrip is a brain surgeon and if you don't believe that, just ask him.
