You can do this, but you will be seperated for a really long time waiting for paperwork. What you have to do is have him come here first, stating that he is visiting as a tourist, then get married here in the states. You will have to go through a lot of paperwork until he can become a resident, and he won't be able to leave the US for 2 years (they won't let him back in if he leaves) but they won't throw him out of the country in the meantime.

You don't say whether you know the man, if you love him, or if you're just trying to help him enter the country. Marriage is meant to be something sacred, a covenant between you, your husband and God. Not a convenience just to allow someone to improve their living circumstances.

If you and this man truly love each other and are willing to commitment the rest of your lives to each other, it doesn't matter where he's from or what you have to go through to be together.

If you're just wanting to help out someone, don't do it. That's not what marriage is about and you'll both end up very unhappy.

Only if you really REALLY love this guy and you're willing to stand by him for the next several years while the process gets rolling.

If you're wanting to do this because you want to "help him" become a legal resident of the U.S. you can get in trouble.

For example: if the Immigration people realize that he's been affiliated with a terrorist organization, you can go to prison for trying to sponsor a terrorist for legalized status.

For what reason? If you truly loves him then yes. We're talking about a very serious, long and expensive process here. It's not as easy as it used to be to marry a non US citizen and bring them here. We're talking about finger printing, interviews, and FBI background checks. So, if this guy is someone you met online or you just feel like doing a favor to someone then I would strongly suggest to NOT DO IT!!!!

No you should only marry him if you love him. But he's only using you to become a citizen of America! Don't do it!
